12/5 UFC Ultimate Fighter finale: Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander, Roy Nelson vs. Brendan Schaub to become the Ultimate Fighter, James Jones vs. Matt Hamill, Titties manhandled by James McSweeney
Dec 5, 2009 - 11:05 PM

The following are the results of the UFC Ultimate Fighter finale, which took place on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

-Matt Mitrione defeated Marcus Jones via second round knockout.

-Frankie Edgar beat Matt Leach via submission in round two.

-Mark Bocek over Joe Brammer via first round submission.

-Kimbo Slice defeated Houston Alexander via unanimous decision.

-Matt Hamill beat Jon Jones via disqualification in round one.

-James McSweeney over Darrill "Titties" Schoonover via a third round TKO.

-Roy Nelson knocked out Brenan Schaub in round one to win the Ultimate Fighter tournament.

Powell's POV: This was a fun card that lived up to expectations. Kimbo's fight was a lot of fun. Alexander targeted Kimbo's knee with repeated kicks, but Slice actually took him down several times and earned the unanimous victory.

The most controversial moment of the night was the referee disqualifying Jones for using an illegal elbow. It appeared as though the ref wanted to stand up the fighters due to the illegal elbow, but Hamill was unable to continue, so he was given the DQ win despite being pummeled throughout the short fight.

For anyone who may have missed it, Hulk Hogan announced that TNA Impact will go head-to-head with WWE Raw on January 4. Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and Dixie Carter were shown sitting in the crowd before Hogan was interviewed by Joe Rogan.

Dana White announced that Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz will be the coaches of the eleventh season of The Ultimate Fighter. I can't wait for the new season. I lost some interest in Ultimate Fighter over the last few seasons, but Kimbo, Rampage Jackson, and Rashad Evans hooked me on the series again. The Titties episode should win an Emmy for best comedy.
