WWE releases disappointing pay-per-view buy information for WrestleMania 25, Backlash, Judgment Day, Extreme Rules, and The Bash

The following information was released by WWE in their second quarter earnings report.
-WrestleMania 25 scored 960,000 buys, which fell short of the company's low end goal of reaching one million buys.
-The Backlash pay-per-view had 182,000 buys, which is down from 200,000 buys last year.
-The Judgment Day pay-per-view produced 228,000 buys, which is down from 252,000 buys last year.
-The Bash pay-per-view was the worst of the bunch with 178,000 buys. It dropped off considerably from the 273,000 buys that Night of Champions did during the same month last year. The number from the 2009 Night of Champions was not released because it fell in the third quarter.
Powell's POV: WWE is still doing big business on pay-per-view, but the fact that the numbers continue to drop has to be alarming. The company should review the number of pay-per-view events they're doing each year. There usual pattern of three weeks between pay-per-view events isn't enough to promote the events properly. For that matter, I'd love to see a change of the guard in the Raw brand main event picture.
