DirecTV issued a survey to its subscribers to gauge interest in the WWE Network. "DirecTV is considering offering its customers a new premium TV network and would like your input," reads the survey.
The WWE Network description states that there would be a separate monthly fee for the network, and 11 of the 12 current pay-per-view events would be shown on the network. WrestleMania would be the only pay-per-view event not offered as part of the WWE Network package. It also states that pay-per-per view events will still be available for purchase for those who don't subscribe. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Juan Mariscal]
Powell's POV: Other teased options are new and classic programming, repeats of Raw and Smackdown. The Monday Night War is the only show mentioned by name. Obviously, this is a big sign that WWE is moving forward with the network plans. It should be a big topic of conversation when Vince McMahon hosts a conference call to discuss the quarterly financial report on February 28.
