The sad state of Ric Flair, the horrible buildup to TNA No Surrender

-Ric Flair has been in the news lately and unfortunately, it is not because of anything positive that he did. I am sure everyone has read about the incident that resulted in his daughter getting arrested. I am sure everyone has read the comments by his estranged wife, Tiffany, regarding their divorce.
Flair reminds me of that dad that embarrasses his kids because he refuses to grow up. Could you imagine Ric Flair driving the carpool of kids to school? "Kids! You are going to make that math test bleed like a virgin. Whooooooooooo! Then you are going to style and profile all the way to football practice. To be the man, you've got to beat the man. Whoooooo!"
All fun aside, I do not have a good feeling about this. Jim Ross is worried about Flair. Ross is one of the most upfront and brutally honest people in wrestling. His blogs do not sugarcoat anything. He is old school and in your face. He does not even have Flair's phone number anymore and they are very close friends. He is worried; so am I.
Flair's personality and drive (in addition to his in-ring work) helped make him arguably the best ever. A lot of people live their characters outside of the ring. However, Flair's character works in a wrestling realm, but not in "real-life." Flair is not the marrying kind; that is okay. He likes his women. However, I hope he makes good decisions with his money. I hope he makes good decisions regarding his health. The night after Wrestlemania, he looked rejuvenated, relaxed, and relieved. I wish Flair those feelings as he moves on in his life.
-Today is the TNA No Surrender pay-per-view. Other than this being their first PPV outside of the United States, there is not much to consider noteworthy on this show. Of course, the actual card is solid but the buildup to the important matches was below average at best.
-The main event four-way with Samoa Joe defending against Christian Cage, Kurt Angle, and Booker T will be forgotten by tomorrow morning. I would be shocked if Joe did not retain here given the fact that Bound for Glory, TNA's version of Wrestlemania, is next month.
This match, despite being a tired multi-person bout, could be very good. However, the TNA creative team has crippled these guys going into the show because of a horrible buildup, or lack thereof. Thursday night on Impact, the main focus of the show was Sting calling out Jeff Jarrett. Samoa Joe was more concerned with Sting than his PPV opponents. Cage was the only one to even talk about his desire to win the title. His promo was very good, but there should have been more from the other guys in the match.
-The rest of the show is a throwaway to me. Even if there is a title change, will anyone really care? We did not see LAX on Impact. We did not hear from Consequences Creed or Sheik Abdul Bashir. Angelina Love and Taylor Wilde had a horrible beauty pageant instead of expressing their desire to win the Knockout's Title.
Booking a wrestling show is timeless; however, what works vs. what does not work is also timeless. TNA has all of the tools; they just need a toolbox. Actually, they need a toolbox and a qualified carpenter. It would be nice to see them put it all together.
