WWE Smackdown Hits
V.I.P. Lounge: Most of these interview show segments contain a predictable situation with forced and scripted interaction. However, it looked as though Triple H and MVP were given the green light to go out there and play off of one another. It resulted in a very entertaining segment. Although it is unknown whether MVP is a face or heel, having a long segment with Triple H is definitely a step in the right direction for him.
Edge and Vickie Guerrero break up: It may turn out to be a rouse but I hope not. The power couple running the show is awfully stale. Turning one of them would freshen things up a lot. In fact, I hope they turn Vickie for two reasons. First, Edge could begin to win matches because of his talent and not his connections, and second, Vickie can bring back The Undertaker. I thought the segments tonight between the two, minus Vickie crying at the end of the show, were very well done.
Wrestling on the show: The in-ring work was fantastic. Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison and the United States Championship matches were both longer than ten minutes and were very good matches. Everything else on the show was decent to good.
Announce Team: Jim Ross is back to his old form and he is not shy about proclaiming Smackdown as the number one show. Mick Foley was much better this week as he seemed more comfortable and relaxed this week.
Overall Show: As I said in my Smackdown TV report, this was one of the better shows I have seen in awhile on Friday nights.
WWE Smackdown Misses
Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder: These two are absolute tools and this show did not do them any favors. You would think aligning with Edge would have elevated them or at least landed them a tag team championship reign, but it looks like they are on the outs with Edge and will begin to linger in the lower part of the card, if that. Both Edge and Vickie punked them out and they just took it. Also, it is still hard to tell them apart and it does not help when even Mick Foley jokes about it. If they could not get over working with Edge, how will they ever get over at all?
