Twilling's Weekend Brief: The Pope, Jim Cornette, Jack Swagger, Ben Roethlisberger, Rob Van Dam and Paul Heyman, Edge, Dana White, big WWE returns?
Apr 17, 2010 - 11:45 AM

Every weekend, I will post some brief thoughts and opinions on various topics that took place in the previous week in bullet point style.

-The Pope will be the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion after Sunday's Lockdown pay-per-view.

-If Rob Van Dam can get Paul Heyman to come to TNA, Dixie Carter should finally give up on Vince Russo.

-Speaking of Russo, steer clear of Jim Cornette.

-Speaking of Cornette, dude, relax a little bit.

-RIP Chris Kanyon and Gene Kiniski.

-Why doesn't WWE treat the World Heavyweight Champion with the same respect as the WWE Champion? Raw and Smackdown are not really two different companies.

-Will somebody knock that smile off of Daniel Bryan's face?

-Is it a good or bad thing that Jack Swagger is a heel champion on a show that has Chris Jericho and C.M. Punk?

-As a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, I hope Ben Roethlisberger is getting railroaded. If he is not, I hope he gets what he deserves.

-Is everyone else as glad as I am that Kurt Angle is taking some time off? I cannot think of anyone who needs to rest his body more than Kurt.

-Is it time for Edge to turn heel again?

-How hilarious and awesome were those two green fans at the Vancouver Canucks hockey game?

-How great is it to see Bret Hart give the rub to his family members? Is anyone worried WWE will blow this?

-Will you miss NXT if it goes away?

-Who will become a bigger star? David Otunga or Wade Barrett?

-In terms of future nuptials, would you rather be Jeff Jarrett or Kurt Angle?

-How sweet are the uniforms of the Minnesota Twins?

-Does anyone care about the NBA Playoffs and does anyone think it will not be the Lakers vs. Cavaliers in the Finals?

-How ballsy is UFC President Dana White and how great would it be to work for a straight shooter like that?

-Will somebody besides Jason Powell convince me why I should watch Lost from the beginning?

-Nice to see The Warlord featured on WWE.com. He was one of many wrestlers I met when I was ten years old and along with Ted DiBiase and Randy Savage, was the nicest. I also met and received autographs from tag team wrestlers Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. I wish I would have held onto those.

-Is Skip Sheffield trying to look and sound like Steve Austin or is it just an amazing coincidence?

-Will Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, and The Rock return to WWE TV? If they do, will it be a good or bad thing?

-Have we seen the last of the Mr. McMahon character?
