7/11 Dot Net One Shots: The Dot Net staff give their quick thoughts from the previous week in WWE, TNA, MMA and indie wrestling

Welcome to the Dot Net One Shots. Each week, we will present a quick "one shot" thought from each staff member about the previous week in each of the following areas: WWE, TNA and Other (MMA, Indies, etc).

WWE

Zack Zimmerman (Twitter - @InVasionZim): The Wyatt Family debut was very well done and was true to what the act has grown to be in NXT. The vignettes were intriguing throughout the show, the entrance was memorable, and the attack was solid. I expect Bray will be quite successful if he can keep his promos aimed at his targets and avoid rambling too far off course. Look for Luke Harper to be the emerging star of the group. I'm also curious to see how much involvement they'll have at the Money in the Bank PPV.

Ryan Kester (Twitter - @InnominatusTTV): The Wyatt Family's debut was very intriguing. My hat's off to the WWE production crew for setting up an entrance that matched the tone of the weekly hype videos so well. Their subsequent attack on Kane was brutal and was just enough to make the group look dangerous without giving away too much in the debut. All around, a solid start.

Darren Gutteridge (Twitter - @Dazatheg): Loved everything about the Wyatt's debut. I initially feared the worse with the thought of cheesy "investigation" videos, but they worked, as did the entrance (inc. the lantern). The "We're here" moment will stay with me for a while.

Chris Shore (Twitter - @TheShoreSlant): The Wyatt Family introduction was well done, but WWE needs to have a big follow-up at the PPV or Raw or the debut will feel flat. Beating up Kane doesn't mean what it once did in WWE thanks to the string of comedy he's been involved with. It's a good first start, but not enough to stand on its own. The Wyatts need another big moment to solidify them in the minds of fans.

TNA

Zack Zimmerman: Last Thursday was proof that TNA has taken a wrong approach to the X Division. The Impact main event featured the best action that Total Nonstop Action has shown in recent memory. In an era where middleweights, lightweights, and women are featured in main event fights, there is no reason TNA couldn't have made the X Division into something really meaningful that defined the company.

Ryan Kester: TNA took a step in the right direction this week by delivering a better effort than they have in the weeks leading up to the Independence Day edition of the show. I still can't claim to be thrilled by their current product as a whole, but last week's Impact was entertaining.

Chris Shore: I am truly confused about what TNA is doing with their product. Move the X Division title to move it right back? Unmask a character only to put him right back under a mask? Are two different people writing the shows and don't know about the other one? Is it one bi-polar person? They are all over the place, and the recent talent cuts for "budgetary reasons" leave them with even fewer fresh faces than the far too few they had. TNA is way off course right now.

Other (MMA, Indies, Etc)

Zack Zimmerman (ROH): ROH has introduced some great talent into the upcoming world title tournament. I'm still up in the air when it comes to their booking strategy and plans, but I'll be at the first-round TV taping in Providence and I know I'm going to see some kick-ass wrestling. I'm optimistic that Delirious will come through and put something together that fans can get behind.

Ryan Kester (UFC): Wow. I, like many others, never saw the end of Silva vs. Weidman coming. In a way, I am sad to see Silva's streak come to an end, but at the same time, this opens up an exciting time for the UFC's Middlewight division.

Darren Gutteridge (Chants): You want to smart and chant "Husky Harris"? Ok, but only is you go whole hog. I want "Ringmaster", "Terra Ryzing" and "Sexton Hardcastle" (the greatest wrestling name ever by the way) chants for Austin, HHH and Edge when they show up. See how well that goes down with fans sat around you.

Chris Shore (ROH): Tonight's "A Night of Hoopla" event for ROH is sure to be filled with raunchy jokes, and if their last iPPV is any indication, at least one set of breasts. I like bawdy humor and boobs as much as the next guy, but I'm not sure this is the direction a wrestling company should take in 2013. The moral police are already mad at ROH for not stripping Jay Briscoe of the title after his tweets. How long before they take up the call of exploitation that WWE had to fend off for so many years?
