TNA Impact Hits

A.J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe: This is more of a hit because of the entire program involving these two and Daniels. I love that TNA is referencing their match four years ago. I also love that Joe successfully drove a wedge between Styles and Daniels. The finish was weak with Daniels "watching Styles' back," but the overall feud has been fun to watch develop.

Desmond Wolfe beats up Kurt Angle again: Wolfe has been on fire since coming to TNA. I mentioned it twice in my report and will mention it here; Angle deserves a lot of credit for being willing to put Wolfe over like this. Wolfe has taken this opportunity and made the most of it.

D'Angelo Dinero partners with Matt Morgan and Hernandez: I like this because Dinero has "big star" written all over him. We all know how TNA feels about Morgan and Hernandez, so teaming Pope with them could mean they feel good about his future in TNA as well.

Raven: I thought Raven was great during his short lived run a few months back and am glad he has returned. His promo was freaky because I had never seen him smile before for so long. Raven and his character is a perfect match to go up against a babyface Abyss.

Super Dave Osborne: Could have done without his involvement on the show. My big concern with bringing on non wrestling people is that they will not know anything about the show and/or roster. So, in a pretaped show, why not edit out that stuff? Dave was there to plug his special and he really didn't offer up much else.

Knockout's match: I enjoyed the six woman tag match because TNA is really focusing on Kong vs. Tara. It feels a couple of months too late, but nonetheless, they are building it up to be something special.

TNA Impact Misses

Announcers during the Alissa Flash vs. Traci match: Tenay mentioned that Traci was born with a handicap in her arm. Alissa worked on that arm for the entire match and won with a submission on said arm. The announcers said Alissa had gone too far. First of all, wrestlers should always target obvious weaknesses in their opponents. Secondly, if Traci (or anyone else) cannot properly protect themselves in the ring, they have business being inside of it.

Beer Money vs. The British Invasion: In my report I mentioned how much I like the Beer Money tag team, so this has nothing to do with them personally. I am just tired of multiple team tag matches for the straps. I was looking forward to the Guns getting their first PPV title shot. Also, Beer Money won their way into the match by pinning the champions relatively easily.

Black Machismo: I liked the idea of his challenge to the legends, but then he lost to Jim Neidhart in 90 seconds. That was weak. This could be the beginning of the end for the Black Machismo character, so that would be a positive if that were the case.

Lack of PPV hype: TNA has a PPV on Sunday and except for the rundown of the card, they really didn't mention it throughout the broadcast, and if they did, it was in passing. I know they hit on all of the programs, but they did not really hype the show on Sunday.
