WWE "ECW on Syfy" Hits

Christian and Yoshi Tatsu vs. William Regal and Zack Ryder: Over the past couple of weeks, I have been excited about a potential Ryder babyface turn. At the very least, he is his own person and wants the ECW Championship regardless of who stands in his way. The main event was enjoyable and I like that Ryder caused his own team the match by screwing over Regal. Yoshi is an enjoyable main event talent on ECW. Christian is still money.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Goldust: Although I did not love the match, I have really been praising Goldust since he has joined ECW. He was a huge asset in his feud with Sheamus and I would love to see him used effectively in that role. Jackson did not necessarily impress here, which was disappointing, given how good his look is. I hope he continues to receive guidance from veterans like Goldust.

WWE "ECW on Syfy" Misses

Hurricane Helms vs. Paul Burchill The crowd was absolutely dead for this match and although both guys are good workers, this feud is just not catching on. Burchill is too good for this and Helms has not been at his best since his return from injury. Beyond that, the "who is he?" storyline is ridiculous. I think both guys have plenty to offer, however.

Sheamus promo: As I mentioned in my live report, this was not a bad promo nor was it a good promo. However, it was a a very bland promo. It seemed horribly scripted and it was forgotten as soon as it was over. People complain when John Cena or DX gets promo time all of the time, but there is a reason why certain people are not given too much promo time. However, you cannot become good without positive repetition.

John Cena vs. Randy Orton video: It makes perfect sense for WWE to promote their top feud on ECW; I just am not looking forward to this match at Bragging Rights and this was an awfully long video. If Raw or Smackdown had a top notch program, I would be just fine with a video on ECW dedicated to said program.
