WWE Superstars Hits

The Hart Dynasty vs. Cryme Tyme and Eve: When the subject of Chris Jericho and Big Show vs. Cryme Tyme at SummerSlam came up, most people said something along the lines of, “Chris Jericho deserved better than that.” I was one of those people. However, Cryme Tyme had a good match and got a rub as a result. Now, they continue their feud with the Harts and the Harts scored this victory. Little things like this are important in developing feuds. Plus, I enjoyed the match itself.

Evan Bourne vs. Chris Masters: Bourne is small. Bourne is fast. Bourne gets himself over with high risk moves. Thus, in WWE, he is going to be booked as an underdog and everything he does will be considered surprising or an upset. That is just the way it is. I am still not a huge fan of Masters, but he has credibility. Bourne taking a beating and pulling off the victory is good for him. Although it was nothing new in terms of booking him, I enjoyed it.

JeriShow video: The pickins are slim this week but I’ve noticed lately that Superstars will have a video package like this for wrestlers not on the show. That is effective. Superstars could be the one show that fans of all three brands are watching, so why not entice viewers to watch a show or shows they are not currently watching?

Overall show: Not a great show by any means, but there were more positives than negatives. Neither ‘Hit’ match was a blow away classic, but they were both solid and served their respective purposes.

WWE Superstars Misses

William Regal vs. Tyler Reks: Okay, right now, Regal is not the veteran presence teaching the young guys how to work and putting them over. He is the number one contender for the ECW Title and the leader of a pretty cool heel faction. Thus, why he is put in a match with Reks, who has Michelle McCool like heat, is beyond me. Regal looked weak in needing time to beat Reks, but Reks would have been buried if he was squashed. The match should not have been booked.
