WWE Superstars Hits

Mark Henry vs. Chris Masters: I am still baffled at how Masters has been reintroduced. I figured WWE was high on the guy since they hired him back despite having two strikes. I listed this as a hit because Mark Henry can do no wrong right now. I must be a huge fan of his because I loved his heel run as the ECW Champion and I am currently enjoying his babyface run very much.

Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly: There was not a lot to love about this broadcast, so maybe I am stretching a bit here, but I really enjoyed the match. Kelly continues to get better and Beth’s newfound push is a welcome site for this viewer.

WWE Superstars Misses

R-Truth vs. Charlie Haas: I understand WWE has six hours of original programming per week, but even at that, there should never been a complete throwaway match and that is exactly what this was. Don’t get me wrong, if both guys were being pushed, they could give us a very entertaining match, but this was simply a match between two guys who will likely never receive a significant push.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Tyler Reks: Benjamin deserves so much better than this in my opinion. Yes, he is an average promo. Yes, Jeff Hardy is average promo too but he is the popular guy in the company. Shelton being in ECW is a demotion and Shelton wrestling Reks on Superstars in a huge step down for the guy that was the highlight of multiple Money in the Bank ladder matches.

Overall show: The one hour show is best served by having three matches instead of four. The two hits on this show probably would not have been on more quality broadcasts. The show should get back to three matches with one or two recognizable stars. This was not a very good show because they tried to cram too much into the hour.
