TNA Hard Justice preview and predictions: Will Kurt Angle wrestle on the show and retain his TNA World Heavyweight Championship? Will Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash bring titles to the MEM?
Aug 16, 2009 - 10:17 AM

The following predictions are made without any inside knowledge of the match finishes. I am guessing just like you are.

Kurt Angle vs. Matt Morgan vs. Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: The biggest question here is whether or not Angle will be wrestling giving his arrest on Saturday morning. As of the time I am writing this, no word has been given.

If Angle wrestles, the smart money says Morgan will swerve Sting to allow Angle to retain the title. I actually would have predicted an Angle victory without Morgan's assistance. Basically, I would have picked against the obvious swerve.

Given Angle's situation, I am going to predict a title change, and go with Morgan to win the title. TNA is really high on Morgan right now, so why not take a chance with him? I'll pick Morgan to win the title whether Angle wrestles or not. If he doesn't, I predict a one-on-one match with Sting, or a triple threat with A.J. Styles added to the mix. A second choice might be Hernandez cashing in the briefcase to win the title.

Mick Foley vs. Kevin Nash for the TNA Legends Championship: This one looks like a train wreck on paper, but I'll say both of these guys will bust ass to give us a solid match. Tough one to pick here, but I'll pick Nash to win the title back.

Booker T and Scott Steiner vs. Team 3D for the TNA Tag Team Championships: I am actually going to predict this match based on the other tag team title match. I'll say Booker and Steiner retain here because of some sort of interference by The British Invasion.

The British Invasion vs. Beer Money for the IWGP Tag Team Championships: It took awhile for The British Invasion to be officially recognized as the IWGP Tag Team Champions, so I am going to predict a title change here. Beer Money wins the belts because of interference from Team 3D.

Homicide vs. Samoa Joe for the TNA X Division Championship: I almost think Homicide will retain again because Joe somehow gets himself disqualified, however, I will go with my second choice and say Joe wins the title. I probably should change my Foley vs. Nash prediction to Foley retaining, but I'll stick with what I have.

Angelina Love vs. ODB for the TNA Women's Championship: Okay, on TNA television, Mike Tenay and Don West promoted this match as a tag match pitting Love and Velvet Sky vs. ODB and Cody Deaner, but the TNA website lists the singles match.

If they go with the tag match, I fear Deaner will win the belt. If they go with the singles match, I'll predict a title change and say ODB wins the title, allowing Traci Brooks to challenge for it at a later time to coincide with her Playboy cover and spread.

Alex Shelley vs. Chris Sabin vs. Suicide vs. Black Machismo vs. Consequences Creed vs. Amazing Red vs. Daniels in a Steel Asylum match: The winner of this match becomes the number one contender for the X Division Championship. If I recall correctly, Machismo won this match last year and lost a four minute title match at the beginning of Impact. I will predict a dream booking scenario with Daniels winning the match and moving onto a feud with Samoa Joe.

Hernandez vs. Big Rob for the World Championship match briefcase: Two things: One, why would Hernandez have to fight the briefcase just because someone stole it from him? Two, why is Rob Terry going by "Big Rob?" Big Rob? Really? Put some thought into it guys. I'm nitpicking; I know. Hernandez wins here and regains the briefcase.

Abyss vs. Jethro Holliday in a Bounty match: Does every match on this show have a stipulation? Funny how the bounty is being contested in the match. What if Holliday wins with a roll-up? That would hardly be worthy of $50,000 because that would not result in Abyss being "taken out." I just put too much thought into it; Abyss wins easily.

-TNA is promoting the debut of "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero (Elijah Burke) and I seem to remember Tenay saying something about him being involved in the Steel Asylum match, but he is not listed for it.

Jason Powell will be covering the show as it airs tonight. Whether you order the show or not, feel free to follow along with Jason.
