WWE Superstars Hitlist: John Morrison vs. David Hart Smith, Goldust vs. Sheamus, Kofi Kingston and Mickie James vs. Carlito and Rosa Mendes
Aug 14, 2009 - 11:50 AM

WWE Superstars Hits

John Morrison vs. David Hart Smith: Jim Ross mentioned in his blog earlier this week that Smith showed him something during this match and he was right. Morrison was great in the ring here as he has been for a long time now. However, Smith is the guy that needed to bring it here and he absolutely did. This is the best he has looked in the ring on WWE TV. Fun match with Morrison going over and Smith looking strong in defeat.

Goldust vs. Sheamus: This has been a regular hit on recent hitlists. I was not surprised to see Goldust get the win here and despite the fact they have faced three times already in one-on-one matches, this has been a physical and competitive feud that should (and probably will) continue in ECW. Goldust has been good for Sheamus and I like the dynamic they have together in the ring as opponents.

Kofi Kingston and Mickie James vs. Carlito and Rosa Mendes: This was the third best match on the show but it was still enjoyable. Kofi and Carlito work well together and perhaps Carlito will find himself in the United States Championship picture for an extended period of time. I believe he won that title in his first WWE match against John Cena. Mickie is always good and Rosa is coming around too.

Overall show: A very good effort this week for the Thursday night show. You cannot go wrong with a great worker like Morrison, a veteran like Goldust, and overwhelming fan favorites like Kofi and Mickie.

WWE Superstars Misses

Nothing: Three good matches out of three with no stupid filler equates to a pretty damn good show. Like I always say, sometimes there will be weaker shows, but this one was very strong and very fun to watch.
