TNA Impact Hits
Main Event Mafia and the World Elite join forces: I liked this because I wondered if TNA was going to address having two heel factions on the show. The World Elite stable is a group of midcard guys, so having Kurt Angle and the Mafia being willing to work with them gives them an instant rub. I liked this.
Hernandez interview: A lot of people may not like Mike Tenay as the voice of TNA, but he really excels in these sit-down interviews. I thought Hernandez did a lot to get himself over as a babyface here. This was just a little thing, but interviews like these help the fans learn more about the characters they are supposed to love.
Motor City Machine Guns: Sure, it seemed like more of the same with these two. Are they face or are they heel? I love that even when they tease they are going to be faces, they have heel tendencies. They are natural heels and I just enjoy seeing them on television. I hope they will finally get the push they deserve.
Eric Young vs. Daniels: This show did not have much to sink your teeth into in terms of solid in ring work. However, despite this match being short, it was surprisingly good. Of course, Daniels can have a good match with anyone and Young can be fun to watch in the ring too.
Taylor Wilde and Sarita vs. Alissa Flash and Traci Brooks: Nice work this week by the females. Sarita and Flash have breathed much needed new life in the Knockout division. I’m guessing Traci will get a huge push when the time ticks closer to her Playboy coming out.
TNA Impact Misses
The brawl: This had some good and bad to it. First of all, it got a lot of people on camera and if TNA chooses to, they can use the footage to start and/or further feuds down the road. The problem I have with something like this is that there is just too much going on for any of it to be meaningful. Also, a brawl like this works better when there are several very personal issues, and they were not at that point with a lot of these guys.
Sting vs. Brutus Magnus: Sting is back again. Sting is back again and he is aligned with Mick Foley, the same guy who beat him for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a bitter feud. Magnus was very excited about this opportunity and it turned out to be a catalyst for more of the same stuff they had throughout the show.
Beer Money and Team 3D vs. Booker T, Scott Steiner, Rob Terry, and Doug Williams: This could have been a lot of fun but instead, it was there and then it was over. I was looking forward to this match because of the workers involved and it was a disappointment.
A.J. Styles vs. Matt Morgan: This isn’t a knock on either guy, but these two are wrestling for a chance to wrestle for the World Title at a pay-per-view. There should be more focus on these guys and this series. We all knew Morgan was getting the win here, but damn, they could have given them some more time.
Abyss: He had some direction again a couple of months back when Dr. Stevie and Raven were working with him. Now he is going to randomly beat people up for awhile because he is paranoid about someone becoming the bounty hunter. Then someone will befriend him and turn on him.
Too much Eric Young and Hernandez: I like these two guys and am enjoying them in their current pushes. That being said, be careful TNA! Do not shove new stars down our throats to the point where nobody wants to see them anymore. Both of these guys could be huge stars if pushed correctly.
