WWE "ECW on Syfy" Hitlist: Christian vs. Zack Ryder, Tommy Dreamer challenges for the title next week, Sheamus vs. Goldust, Shelton Benjamin, announce team, Tyler Reks vs. Paul Burchill

WWE "ECW on Syfy" Hits

Christian vs. Zack Ryder: A very good television match that did a very nice job of establishing Ryder as someone who can go with the top tier talent. Both men utilized mat wrestling and high flying moves for the entire fifteen plus minutes. I thought Matt Striker added a lot to this match by pointing out every intricate detail. I'd like to see more of these two in the future.

Christian vs. Tommy Dreamer next week on ECW: This is a hit for me because I think this match would be good enough to be on the SummerSlam card, but I doubt a lot of people would want to see it again at SummerSlam. So, it will be a big main event for next week's ECW show, which I like.

Sheamus vs. Goldust: I really enjoy Sheamus as a new star in WWE. In the case of Goldust, what is funny is that there has always been a guy in ECW that was meant to be there to work with and elevate young talent. There was Chris Benoit, Finlay, and presumably, William Regal was going to fill the role now. However, Goldust has filled that role and done a great job. He has a spring in his step I have not seen in a long time. He does have some value and this is it.

Shelton Benjamin: Okay, let's get the negative stuff out of the way first. I have no clue why Shelton, a star of many years, would ask to be on the Abraham Washington Show. I also don't why Tiffany would alienate one of her biggest stars by saying he was not entertaining enough to be on his show. Anyway, I was happy that Shelton plans to do something big and I imagine it will be to begin a feud after (or during) next week's show.

Josh Matthews and Matt Striker: This announce team has been off in recent weeks, but I thought they both, especially Striker, were great tonight.

WWE "ECW on Syfy" Misses

Tyler Reks vs. Paul Burchill: I thought the match itself was fine and a solid opening. However, I am going to choose to look at the big picture with both of these guys. Reks has some upside. He has a solid look, a power move set, speed, and agility. However, the fans just sit on their hands with this guy. His promo was horrible. Burchill could be a main event level talent in my eyes, so I am understandably disappointed every time I see him, because he should be doing more.
