WWE The Bash preview and predictions: Who will be sent to Hell? Will Chris Jericho unmask Rey Mysterio? Can Jeff Hardy get retribution against C.M. Punk? Will John Cena bury The Miz?
Jun 28, 2009 - 11:05 AM

I will be attending "The Bash" pay-per-view tonight and then joining Jason Powell for a Dot Net Member Exclusive audio recap after the show. You can hear this audio, the Sean "X-Pac" Waltman Raw review, and the Konnan interview along with all Dot Net Audio for only $5 per month by visiting the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.

-The following predictions are being made without any inside knowledge of the match finishes. In other words, I am guessing just like you are. Remember, I’ll be at the show live, so if you are planning to go, shoot me an email.

C.M. Punk vs. Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Championship: This might not end up being the actual main event of the show, but it should be. I’m hoping they get fifteen to twenty minutes because this could be and should be a damn good match. Punk is going to win the match, and he may use a heel tactic to do so, like putting a foot on the rope or pulling the tights.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship in a Three Stages of Hell match: For me, three stages of hell is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at work. I am not crazy about the stipulations here, but they are what they are. Of course, they will split the first two falls and I predict Orton to win the third fall. Legacy could help him but nonetheless, Orton walks in and walks out as the champion.

John Cena vs. The Miz: This is quite the opportunity for The Miz and WWE. This is step one for elevating The Miz up the Raw roster into possible main event status. One quick victory for Cena here and Miz moves right back down the card. A win for Miz and Cena is not affected at all while Miz gets an invaluable victory. I’ll predict Miz wins here, perhaps with Big Show’s help, and the feud continues.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Mark Henry vs. Jack Swagger vs. Finlay vs. Christian in a Scramble match for the ECW Championship: If nothing else, this match will be a lot of fun. I definitely see a title change here and although Henry and Finlay have been looking strong in recent weeks, I think the title goes back to Swagger.

Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio with Jericho’s IC Championship and Mysterio’s mask on the line: Jericho loves to steal the show but I doubt they’ll be given enough time to do so. However, this should be a great ten to twelve minute match with both men working their asses off. I was thinking about picking Jericho, but I think this continues, so Mysterio wins the title and WWE continues to sell his masks.

Carlito and Primo vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships: This should be a much bigger deal but it will probably be a quickly forgotten opening match. I’m guessing DiBiase and Rhodes win the titles back and celebrate later with Orton as all three men will have belts together for the first time.

Melina vs. Michelle McCool for the WWE Women’s Championship: Both women’s divisions have been very lackluster since the draft. I’m guessing this will be a decent bout, but McCool is going to leave the show with the belt and Melina will then involve herself in the chase to win it back.

Dolph Ziggler vs. The Great Khali: This might look like a throwaway match, but it isn’t. Well, if Khali wins, it would have been a huge waste, but if Ziggler wins, which I predict he will, he will have his first singles win on a pay-per-view. It is not quite Miz beating Cena, but it will have a similar positive effect for Ziggler.
