TNA Impact Hits

Kurt Angle's explanation of Samoa Joe's entrance into the MEM: For now, the explanation is fine. Joe came back, Angle needed money to get him, he brought in Jenna Morasca, and the plan was in motion. Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Kevin Nash took bullets, so I'm not sure if he meant that was part of the plan or if they were filled in later. I hope there is more to this, but it was fine for what it was. By the way, why couldn't the wrestlers themselves just pay Joe?

Final segment with the Mafia kicking Sting out: I have been vocal about Sting in the Mafia and how much I have enjoyed his role. However, this segment was very well done. Throughout the show, the Mafia was being repositioned as a powerful entity and they looked very strong with Joe and Matt Morgan now in the group. They can get a lot of solid TV out of this angle with Sting and A.J. Styles coming after them.

Build to the next PPV: Oftentimes, both TNA and WWE will wait too long before building matches for a pay-per-view show. However, this show planted seeds for a World Championship match, a World Tag Tag Team Championship match, and a Legends Title match. If they go with the Mafia vs. Beer Money, we'll probably get Team 3D vs. the British Invasion too. This was nicely done.

Mick Foley throughout the show: Foley was on the show a lot and was a mixed bag of emotions, but I dug it. He wants his rematch with Angle but at the same time, he is seemingly willing to wheel and deal with the Mafia (or maybe he feels he has no choice but to work with them). I'm curious to see what happens next with Foley and Jeff Jarrett too.

Sarita debuting in three weeks: I'm looking forward to seeing Sarah Stock in TNA and the name is cool. I also like that they explained Tara's name being short for Tarantula. Hey, it's something.

TNA Impact Misses

Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde in a 10,000 tacks match: Stuff like this should be saved for pay-per-view. When Daffney went through the tacks at Slammiversary, he should not have had to again for a long time, if ever. To give away this match on television and have it not really progress anything was a waste of the tacks bump.

Kevin Nash defeats Abyss: I know Nash needed the taser shot from Dr. Stevie to win the match, but did Abyss really need to lose his first match after winning a big one at Slammiversary? Also, Abyss vs. the Mafia is something they could look to down the road, so giving away a cheap Nash victory here did neither man any favors.

Overall in ring action: I didn't mind the overall show as basically a "PPV explanation" show, but there could have been more in terms of in ring action. Oh well. It was not a huge deal either way, but every match this week was just filler for the rest of the show.

Jenna Morasca vs. Sharmell at Victory Road: Okay, they give away the tacks match on TV with no build, but these two get a PPV match? What is up with that? I know they need to blow off this feud, but why not promote it for two weeks and let them wrestle on Impact?
