Today's Rundown: Trump sells Raw back to Vince, Randy Orton vs. Triple H, Big Show vs. John Cena, The Miz, Smackdown six man tag, Santino and Santina, Mickie James
Donald Trump sells Raw back to Vince McMahon: I am selling this (no pun intended). Obviously this had to be done, but Trump could have named a general manager and appeared on television every once in awhile for a couple of months at least. What really bothered me was how he put over the show belonging to the fans and how bad Vince was, yet he turned around and sold it back to Vince when the money was right. That's hypocritical and for some reason, the fans did not dump all over Trump for selling out to Vince. Oh well, they tried it and now we can move on.
Randy Orton vs. Triple H in a Last Man Standing match: I'll buy this. Given the personal nature of the feud, this is the type of physicality they should have been allowed to show at WrestleMania. Both guys worked hard here and I respect that. I also enjoyed the announcement that they will face in a three stages of hell match at The Bash because it is a logical progression. Not sure I want to see three Orton vs. H matches, but at least it makes sense.
Big Show vs. John Cena: I'll sell this (and Cena's new t-shirt and hat for that matter). These two have had some decent matches together but the feud is over (hopefully). With Show winning, I'm sure we'll see the match again, but at least it will not be on Sunday at The Bash.
The Miz and John Cena: I'll buy this. I have been clamoring for this feud in particular and what the feud represents too. This is about giving a new guy a chance in the main event level spotlight. I like it. They have built this feud while Cena feuded with Show and it worked. Now they are going to have a match on a pay-per-view that I am very much looking forward to seeing. In fact, barring something happening this week, I think Miz is going to beat Cena.
Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and Great Khali vs. Chris Jericho, Edge, and Dolph Ziggler I will buy this as a quick, albeit enjoyable six man tag. Even though Ziggler took the pinfall, he was elevated by working with four main eventers and a former champion in Khali. Oddly enough, I said Smackdown needed to be represented on this show; I didn't think they would be given less than five minutes.
Santino and Santina: I am going to buy this all the way around. I like that Santina is now unemployed. I thought the bit where Santino walked in as soon as Santina walked out was clever and humorous. They needed to do more things like that with these "two." Not sure where Santino goes from here, but I'm hoping they utilize his talents effectively.
Mickie James: I am buying her as the only person over in the women's match. What happened to this division? It seems like ever since they added the second belt, both divisions have suffered greatly. On a roster with Mickie, Beth Phoenix, and Natalya, there should be some quality within the ranks, but people have to have something to care about. Right now, Mickie is it.
