WWE "ECW on SciFi" Hits
Opening segment: Solid segment to cement Tommy Dreamer's ECW Championship victory and new contract status. Christian was his usual humorous self and Jack Swagger was solid too. The three way feud over the title has been very well done and I am pleased to see it continuing. I also enjoy the tension between Christian and Dreamer, despite being friends.
Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith vs. Christian and Jack Swagger: Normally, I don't love the "reluctant tag team partner" bit, but it worked here. It made sense too that Swagger saw the bigger picture and helped the heels go after Christian. Heels are usually smarter wrestlers than John Cena-like babyfaces in these situations. By the way, I loved watching the Hart Dynasty work as a team, even though I want to see them remain as singles.
Evan Bourne vs. Tony Atlas: I loved this because it gave Bourne a clean victory, but on top of that, it continued a non-title program on ECW. In the past, everyone not challenging for the belt was relatively aimless. Now, there are solid programs going on that do not involve the title. One wouldn't think that these two would work well together (Bourne and Mark Henry), but they do.
Vladimir Kozlov: As Dot Net member Mr. Maye would say, "Attention everyone!" Yes, I have included Kozlov here and while it may not be a regular thing, that weird ass smile he gave at the end of his match is the reason. I would love to see "kooky babyface" with Kozlov, and I'm guessing we will not, but nonetheless, at least I did not loathe the match/segment.
Overall show: Not much to complain about tonight. There was nice follow up from the pay-per-view and solid progression of the non-title acts. At this point, I hope no one is plucked from this roster to play fodder to the stars on one of the other shows. Let everyone shine here before moving them to something more high profile.
WWE "ECW on SciFi" Misses
Tiffany: She is decent to good some weeks and like last night, she can be pretty bad too. That is not a knock on her really, but this is too high profile of a spot for her right now. At least we won't see her moved to Raw and named their General Manager (right?). I would prefer to see her as a heel valet, so we'll see what happens next with her.
