Buy or Sell: Ric Flair and Randy Orton get into a fight, Orton taunts Batista while bloodying Flair, Kofi wins another belt, Tyson Kidd, Evan Bourne, ECW Title feud, Samoa Joe's injury, Jim Mitchell

Today's Rundown: Ric Flair fights Randy Orton, Orton taunts Batista, Kofi Kingston wins another championship, Tyson Kidd, Evan Bourne, Christian and Jack Swagger, Samoa Joe's injury, Jim Mitchell

Ric Flair "fights" Randy Orton on Raw: I'll address the actual fight/segment in a moment, but I first want to talk about Flair competing in any way for WWE. I'll sell this for a couple of reasons. First of all, Flair fighting Orton, even in a "non-sanctioned" fashion, really pushes the retirement envelope. Secondly, if WWE was going to go along with it, they should have at least promoted it one week out.

Flair beats up Randy Orton until Legacy arrives: Since it's my column, I can bend the rules, and I will buy and sell this. Flair beat the crap out of Orton. I could focus on how ridiculous that was, but instead, I'll look at what was solid about the segment. Legacy looked strong. Orton punting Flair as a helpless Batista looked on was very effective. Orton ended up with much more heat as a result of the segment. It helped sell the pay-per-view match. That made it a positive segment.

Kofi Kingston wins the United States Championship from MVP: I will buy this. Kofi is amazingly over and is a classic babyface. He is already a very popular choice as a secondary champion in WWE. I am hoping MVP ends up being in the situation where he drops the secondary title and moves up the card. I would not be too quick to turn him heel; let it simmer before pulling the trigger on that one.

Tyson Kidd: I am buying him and am I the only one that sees a future World Champion? Even at this stage in his WWE career, he is way ahead of the curve. He incorporates Lance Storm, Davey Boy Smith, and especially Bret Hart in his offensive move set. His character is developing and his involvement in The Hart Trilogy will only speed his progression to the top.

Evan Bourne: I'll buy him too and I would love to see a long ECW Championship program between Bourne and Kidd down the road. Something that gives us multiple pay-per-view matches. Bourne and Kidd could be WWE's answer to AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe or AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels in TNA.

Christian and Jack Swagger: With Kidd being my favorite reason to watch ECW, I still did not want to forget these two, and I am buying. Swagger is benefitting so much from working with Christian and both men are excelling. Tommy Dreamer's involvement has been handled so well too. Having Swagger interrupt Dreamer's "goodbye" speech may have swerved the crowd into thinking Dreamer will win, and since I don't see that happening, that was a great job by WWE.

Samoa Joe is injured: Of course I am selling this. Joe has been getting back to his old ass-kicking self and I am hoping he will not miss any significant time. If he had to miss some time, I hope TNA continues the storyline somehow and lets him pick up where he left off when he returns (if he does miss time).

Jim Mitchell gets snubbed by WWE: In case you missed this story, it is on the main page, and I am selling so fast. The treatment Mitchell received was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. On top of that, it is disappointing because Mitchell would be a great mouthpiece for a number of people on the WWE roster.
