WWE Superstars Hits
John Cena vs. Ted DiBiase: It was refreshing to see someone new in a singles main event, even though this was just the Superstars show. I don't think anyone thought DiBiase was going to win the match, but he looked good going down in defeat. The main complaint I have however is how face Ted tapped out. They can build credibility on someone by simply letting them struggle for awhile before tapping.
Carlito and Primo vs. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin: I cannot help but think this very solid tag team match was a lackluster response to TNA's booming tag team division. WWE is never going to get behind tag team wrestling, but this was a nice treat to open the show with. I might be in the minority here, but I prefer Haas and Benjamin as a team because they just aren't over as singles wrestlers.
Randy Orton video: Nice video package of Orton for the people that do not watch Raw anymore but do watch Superstars. Don't laugh; that day could be rapidly approaching.
Jack Swagger squashes Finlay: Well, that was surprising. I didn't think I would like to see Finlay go down in defeat so easily, but damn, Swagger has been great lately, so why not reward him? It is getting to the point that I am starting to wonder how they will justify either not putting the title back on him, or not moving him to another show. Swagger is money.
Overall show: Very solid effort this week. Three fun matches and some interesting filler.
WWE Superstars Misses
Nothing: Odd that Raw, the flagship show, can be so bad, but Superstars, the forgotten "Let's throw together a show" show is so entertaining. Go figure. I enjoy what WWE is doing on Thursday nights, partially because I know not to expect storylines and angles, but nonetheless, it is a very fun show to watch.
