TNA Sacrifice preview and predictions: Mick Foley defends the TNA Championship against Sting, Jeff Jarrett, and Kurt Angle, Angelina Love vs. Awesome Kong for the Knockouts Title
May 24, 2009 - 11:31 AM

The following predictions are my own and are being made without any inside knowledge of the match finishes. Basically, I am guessing just like you are.

Mick Foley vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle vs. Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Each man is putting something on the line. If Jarrett is pinned, he gives up his voting shares in TNA. If Angle is pinned, he gives up leadership of the Main Event Mafia. If Sting is pinned, he gives up his career.

I just thought about this as I write this, but Foley obviously loses the title whether he gets pinned or not. However, the other stipulations only apply to the person getting pinned, but does the person who earns the pin get awarded with more than the title? For example, if Angle pins Jarrett, does Angle get the title and Jarrett's voting shares? I would think so since I think anyone that pins Angle gets the title and leadership of the Mafia.

Anyway, I honestly think somebody is going to pin Foley so the title changes hands and none of the the other three lose anything of significance. I do not think it is going to be Jarrett, and since they are teasing more dissension between Angle and Sting, I think one of them is going to win the title. The smart money is with Angle, but I have a gut feeling Sting is going to win the title again, so I'll go with him.

Angelina Love vs. Awesome Kong for the TNA Knockout Title: This feud has been built up very well and although it has progressed a bit quickly, it has been one of the better things in TNA. Kong winning the title would make her mission complete, but I think Angelina has an ace up her sleeve and that ace will help her retain the title.

AJ Styles vs. Booker T in an "I Quit" match for the TNA Legends Title: Heels rarely win I Quit matches and I don't think this will be an exception. Not sure if the Jenna Morasca and Sharmell situation will play a role, but Styles will force Booker to quit and he will retain the title.

Suicide vs. Daniels for the X Division Championship: Barring something supernatural happening, I assume this will be an entertaining bout. I hope Suicide is unmasked and Kaz is revealed, but I doubt that will happen on this show. I do think we'll see a title change though and Daniels will walk out with the belt.

Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash: This match is many months in the making and given the way Joe has been positively rebuilt, he better win this match cleanly and relatively quickly. They could go the disqualification rout, but I think Joe picks up the victory here.

Beer Money vs. The British Invasion in the finals of the Team 3D Tournament: I could see this being a title feud in the not too distant future and while I don't see Beer Money winning and losing the title so quickly, I'll say the Invasion wins here, goes on to win the belts, and then begins a program with Beer Money over the titles.

Taylor Wilde vs. Daffney in a Monster's Ball match: I predict this will be the bathroom break match of the show. Beyond that, I'll predict Daffney wins the match and this program, also involving Abyss, Lauren, and Dr. Stevie, will continue.

The Motor City Machine Guns and Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Lethal Consequences and Eric Young: This match was just added and it should get the crowd going at the beginning of the show. I'll pick the Guns and Bashir to win and perhaps an Eric Young heel turn during or after the match.

Amazing Red vs. Kiyoshi in a free preview that will air before the PPV broadcast begins: I like that TNA is doing this in an attempt to entice those on the fence to purchase the show. I'm sure this will be an abbreviated PPV quality match with Red going over.

Unfortunately for TNA, while this show looks strong on paper, they are competing with UFC and the Memorial Day weekend. The original Dot Net Founder Jason Powell will be covering the show live, so feel free to follow along with him whether or not you order the show.
