ECW Hitlist: Jack Swagger vs. Tommy Dreamer, Swagger challenges Matt Hardy, DJ Gabriel and Alicia Fox, Mark Henry vs. Finlay, The Boogeyman, DX
Nov 26, 2008 - 11:17 AM

ECW Hits

Jack Swagger vs. Tommy Dreamer: This was a very entertaining Extreme Rules match and I felt it made Swagger look very tough. He took a lot of stiff shots and showed that in addition to his amateur wrestling skills and power, he can utilize weapons as well. Dreamer was in his element here so he added a lot to the match. I'm glad to see Swagger moving on (see below), but this was a nice cap to this feud.

Jack Swagger challenges Matt Hardy: Sure, he has not been around for long, but Swagger should be interested in the only belt on the show. Also, there is not a lot of competition for him, so it made perfect sense for him to confront and challenge Hardy. Swagger is a believable challenger for the ECW Title in my opinion and I'm looking forward to the feud.

Alicia Fox explains her connection to DJ Gabriel: It was a simple explanation, but I loved it nonetheless. These are the little things that are often missing. We now know why Fox is no longer on Smackdown, where she has been, how she met Gabriel, and why they are in ECW together. Furthermore, I enjoy their act. It's different and quirky, but so far, it's pretty good.

Overall show: It was not as good as it was in previous weeks, but overall, it was still a pretty solid show.

ECW Misses

Mark Henry vs. Finlay: I feel Finlay has been neutered because of his involvement with Hornswoggle. He was great in his match vs. Matt Hardy for the ECW Title, but his act has worn thin. On top of that, these two just do not work too well together and the match never picked up at all. The ending was pretty weak too.

The Boogeyman: I was happy to see Miz and Morrison get the night off because they seem to be working more than anyone lately. I was not happy to see The Boogeyman screw up their segment. Boogey does not bring very much (if anything) to the show at all and I am worried he is going to drastically slow down the Tuesday night show.

DX video package: The DX video that aired on Raw was entertaining. Airing the exact same video on a one hour ECW broadcast was not necessary. The extended John Cena vs. Chris Jericho video was pushing it (although it made sense to show it), but this was a bit too much.
