ECW Hitlist: John Morrison and The Miz, DJ Gabriel, Jack Swagger, main event six man tag, Ricky Ortiz, Boogeyman
Nov 19, 2008 - 09:39 AM

ECW Hits

John Morrison and The Miz: I thought they should have made a bigger deal of their win last night, but I enjoyed their promo. It was not too corny or campy, but it was cocky enough to put over their personas in a logical manner. They were funny, truthful, and they put over their Survivor Series match. These guys are money.

DJ Gabriel and Alicia Fox: I could do without the Alex Wright similarities in look and actions, but the first impression was lasting at very least. The upcoming weeks should really hammer home what the connection is between the two in order to establish a chemistry. All in all, I thought it was a solid debut.

Jack Swagger's backstage promo: Swagger can do it all. His backstage interaction with Ricky Ortiz and Tiffany was spot on and it made perfect sense. He was upset about what Dreamer did to him and he did something about it. He also put Ortiz in his place and anytime someone can do that, it is pretty much an automatic hit.

Main event: The main event did not accomplish much, as I mentioned in my report, but it was a very entertaining and fun twelve minutes. I liked that Mark Henry was made to look like a million bucks coming out of the match, although I don't see him wearing the title again anytime soon.

ECW Misses

Amateur Wrestling Challenge: It was not bad, but it just seemed out of place on the show. Swagger dominated as expected and Dreamer got himself intentionally disqualified. It really did not serve a purpose except to set up next week's Extreme Rules Match. They could have arrived at that conclusion in other ways. Also, it did not make sense that Teddy Long booked the rematch to Dreamer's strength when it was Dreamer who was disqualified.

Ricky Ortiz: Does anyone else vomit a bit in their own mouth when they see Tiffany drool all over this guy? Ortiz came across as an idiot in his interaction with Swagger and he continues to do absolutely nothing every week. I feel horrible that Elijah Burke is out of work and this fool continues to provide lackluster segments every single time out.

The return of The Boogeyman: Is anyone else looking forward to this? I didn't think so.
