TNA Turning Point preview and predictions: Will the Main Event Mafia run roughshod over everyone in their path? Samoa Joe looks for revenge against Kevin Nash, A.J. Styles challenges Sting for the World Heavyweight Championship

The following predictions are my own and without the assistance of any inside knowledge of the match finishes. I am guessing just like you are. Feel free to follow along with Jason tonight as he provides live coverage of the pay-per-view.
Sting vs. A.J. Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: The outcome of the match could go a few different ways but regardless of who wins, Sting will retain the title. I highly doubt the new heel faction will be made to look weak by having Sting lose the title this early into his reign. Styles could win or lose via disqualification here, but I think they will go the predictable route and have Sting win with help from the Main Event Mafia, setting up a rematch for the next PPV.
Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash: This is billed as one of the two main events on the show. Kevin Nash is main eventing a pay-per-view at the end of 2008. Who would have thought that to be possible when he went down during that Raw main event years back? This match is contingent on the title match. If Sting retains, Joe goes over cleanly here. If Styles surprises us and wins the title, Nash wins with help from the MEM. In order to restore Joe's credibility, he should win here in about two minutes.
Booker T vs. Christian Cage for the TNA Legends Championship: Booker is not losing the title here. If Cage loses, he joins the Main Event Mafia. I could see Booker getting himself disqualified. Thus, he keeps the title, Cage remains a lone wolf, and they continue the intrigue with what he will do. If that doesn’t happen, Booker will win and we will see a reluctant Cage in the MEM over the next several weeks.
Beer Money Inc. vs. The Motor City Machine Guns for the TNA Tag Team Championship: Most people feel James Storm and Robert Roode will retain here, but I will predict the upset. Team 3D will cost Beer Money the titles and the TNA Originals will have some gold. Beer Money will feud with Team 3D and I guess the Machine Guns will move onto Abyss and Matt Morgan.
Kurt Angle vs. Abyss in a falls count anywhere match: Is anyone else completely underwhelmed by this match? I say Angle wins backstage somewhere with the assist from Scott Steiner.
Rhino vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir in a grudge match (X-Division Championship is not at stake): This, to me, is a wasted opportunity. The X-Division is about "no weight classes" and "no limits," so why not make this for the title? If they are leading to a title match down the road, Bashir wins here. If not, Rhino goes over. Funny, did anyone notice that when Rhino gave his "Love the USA or leave it" speech, he was wearing an "Italy" sweatshirt?
Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed vs. Taylor Wilde and Roxxi: In an effort to make it look like someone has a chance to beat Kong, Taylor and Roxxi win when one of them pins Saeed. They could rush into a Kong vs. Rhaka Khan matchup by having interference by Khan backfire.
X-Division Championship seeding match with Eric Young, Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Jimmy Rave, Homicide, Doug Williams, Volador, and Tanahasi: It would be wise to give the win to someone actively siding with Samoa Joe, so I could see Eric Young getting the win here. However, I am going to say Homicide wins this and goes on to become the X-Division Champion.
Final Thoughts: While there does not seem to be an awful lot to get excited about regarding this show, TNA has an opportunity tonight to really elevate the young guys in their feud with the Main Event Mafia. If Joe wins handily, AJ looks strong without winning the title, and the Machine Guns win the tag straps, the young crew could get a leg up. If the Mafia wins a bunch of matches using outside interference, well, that would be too WCW-like for my tastes.
Stay tuned here at Dot Net during and after the show as Jason provides coverage and analysis of the Turning Point pay-per-view.
