TNA Impact Hitlist: Scott Steiner's promo, Christian Cage's decision, Kevin Nash unloads on Samoa Joe, The Mafia in and out of the ring, TNA Originals, Awesome Kong and Rhaka Khan, Jeff Jarrett's daughters, overall show

TNA Impact Hits
Scott Steiner's promo: In my report last night, I said Steiner was at his "incoherent best." Otherwise stated, he was hilarious. Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash were laughing in the ring, presumably in character, but they were probably shooting. Steiner made a lot of intriguing points and he spewed a lot of BS, but nonetheless, anytime he is given a live microphone, you know some verbal gems will come from his mouth.
Christian Cage remains neutral: When Samoa Joe introduced Christian Cage as their "free agent signing," I cringed. I was glad when Cage made it clear he was not going to pick a side, nor did he need to. Not everyone should be in or out of either of the two big factions right now. Cage made it clear what his intentions were without choosing a side. I am interested to see if he is forced to join the Mafia at the PPV.
Kevin Nash's backstage promo: Nash showed more passion in that promo than I have seen out of him in years. Instead of taking a cowardly heel role, he basically verbally bitch slapped Joe and told him to beware of the invigorated Kevin Nash.
The non-wrestling Main Event Mafia: I am sure it will get stale, but these guys look the part right now. The Godfather-esque music, the suits, and the cockiness they portray have been very well done. While I am not thrilled with their wrestling (see below), at least they pass the looks test.
TNA Impact Misses
The wrestling Main Event Mafia: Booker T and Scott Steiner won their matches via screwjob. Angle, Sting, and Nash unspectacularly disposed of three midcard babyfaces. All five of them worked matches and none of them came out looking strong, nor did any of their opponents. I like what the Mafia could potentially bring to the table, but they just did not bring it inside of the ring.
Awesome Kong and Rhaka Khan: I have to assume here they are going start the slow build to this matchup, but TNA ran through what could have been a few weeks of programming in about five minutes. Khan is the only Knockout that does not look physically overwhelmed by Kong. Having them join forces right now doesn't seem to make a lot of sense but hey, at least it led to Taylor Wilde getting laid out.
The TNA Originals: Besides Styles and Joe, this group has a bunch of guys the fans hardly care about. TNA has to give people a reason to believe that people like Jay Lethal, Eric Young, Consequences Creed, and the Machine Guns are legitimate competition for the Mafia. Of course, they should have done that before they pulled the trigger on this feud.
Kurt Angle continues to threaten Jeff Jarrett's daughters: Enough already. Angle is coming across as a stalker and a creep here more than anything. It is not like Jarrett's daughters are adults and Angle is threatening to sleep with one of them. They are young girls and Angle keeps saying he is "going to pay a visit to them." What exactly does he have in mind? I just hope they don't follow through on this.
Overall show: They hyped the pay-per-view enough, but did not get much to get people to want to buy it. Granted, I was extremely preoccupied going into the show, but nonetheless, the show was pretty bad tonight. I praised TNA recently for seemingly having a renewed sense of direction, but I retract that for now until I see a few more weeks of programming.
