Buy or Sell: Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Mike Adamle, tag teams, Bourne vs. Mysterio, Batista, Divas, 800th episode of Raw

Today’s Rundown: Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Mike Adamle, tag teams, Evan Bourne vs. Rey Mysterio, Batista winning the World Championship, Divas, next week’s 800th episode of Raw
Chris Jericho: I am buying Jericho’s attitude during his promo last night. He made sense in his explanations for losing the title and his desire to get back into the ring with Batista and Shawn Michaels showed he was not a cowardly heel. This is the Jericho that was over for so long and it was nice to see him revert back.
Randy Orton: I am buying Orton’s tirade on Mike Adamle last night. He showed the passion and fire that are usually missing from his promos. His ultimatum to Shane and Stephanie McMahon was intriguing. However, after Adamle slapped him and given the ultimatum, Orton should have laid Adamle out. Technically, he had nothing to lose since he threatened to walk anyway.
Mike Adamle: I am selling his performance. His “I’m beyond angry” face looked more like, “I am going to cry and/or I am going to piss my pants.” Strangely enough, I like Adamle. It is obvious he is a genuinely nice guy and the fact that he eats alone tells me he is nervous to be around people, not that he is standoffish. Of course, I think of how much money he makes and I feel bad for him much less.
Tag Team Division: I mentioned this on Dot Net Weekly and I am buying this. Tag teams are never going to be the focus, but if there are some storylines and ten minute television matches, I would be happy with that. Punk and Kofi vs. Priceless was a very good tag team title match. I do wish there would have been more buildup and celebration. Had they built up to this in say, a month from now, it would have been that much better for the tag team division in general.
Evan Bourne vs. Rey Mysterio: I am buying and I was very glad to see that they were given ample time to have a great match with a clean finish. Rey looked young again and Bourne was with him every step of the way. I do not even mind the couple of botched spots because in a match this competitive, messing up a time or two makes the match look more real.
How Batista winning the title was handled: I loved Chris Jericho as the World Champion and was not thrilled about Batista winning the strap, but I am buying “the night after” regarding Batista. Winning (and losing) the top title should be looked at as a huge deal and I like that they treated this title change in the manner in which they did.
Divas: I am buying their recent in ring work. If you notice carefully, they have been putting on some very entertaining and solid matches. The hard work of the lesser experienced divas is nice to see and the already good hands continue to excel.
The buildup to next week’s 800th episode: There is a fine line between booking a future show on the air and alienating the crowd. However, I am buying the way they set up next week’s show while giving last night’s audience some solid wrestling. The World Championship catch match next week has the potential to be very good and most people will pop for DX. It is always good to get the viewers excited about next week’s show and WWE did a fantastic job with this last night.
