TNA Impact Hits
Kurt Angle vs. Matt Morgan: This was a surprisingly solid television main event. Of course, when motivated, Angle could work with a wet paper bag. Nevertheless, Morgan held his own and worked his best match to date. Upon seeing them stare each other down at the beginning of the match, I thought to myself that this could be a big money feud down the road if TNA decides to go in that direction.
Kevin Nash: On Dot Net Weekly, I talked about Nash being overpaid for doing very little. I still feel that way but Nash was very good last night. Sure, his promo was nearly verbatim to those he gave in 1998, however, he was entertaining and showed some fire that I have not seen out of him in awhile. On top of that, he referenced The Godfather part III, so that is an automatic hit.
Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett: Not much to say here except for I am glad they are moving forward with this feud.
AJ Styles and Sting's interaction: It was short and very affective. Styles cut the best promo I have ever heard him do. This was almost a sink or swim segment in the sense that if the promo would have bombed, it would have been a case of this feud getting off on the wrong foot. Nice job by both men.
TNA Impact Misses
Cutting to the back: On two occasions last night, TNA had something going on in the ring and before the action concluded, they cut to the back to pick up something else. We are supposed to let something sink in and react to it, but it is difficult to do that when something else of importance happens right away. Slow down a bit guys.
Kurt Angle beats up the locker room: We have seen the angry heel after losing a big match doing this in the past. I do not like it nor do I see what it accomplishes. It also makes the locker room look like a bunch of pansies because groups of people should be beaten up so easily by one angry co-worker.
Mick Foley: Foley's promo was bland to me. Also, the way they were portraying him (not his fault) as leaving the company was poorly done. We all know he is not going anywhere. However now, they have to figure out what to do with him because the bloom is off the rose.
Booker T vs. Hernandez: I was looking forward to the match and it was short with a screwy finish. I expected that going in but I was hoping to be surprised. I was not.
