WWE Smackdown Hitlist: Edge turns on La Familia, Shelton Benjamin vs. Jeff Hardy, Indian broken glass arm wrestling, Tazz, Diva's Division

It is my pleasure to feel in for Jason Powell, as he enjoyed a much deserved night out on the town on Friday. Slacker.
WWE Smackdown Hits:
Edge turns on La Familia: I really enjoyed this and thought it was extremely clever. The black roses were a nice touch. Edge continues to be the best heel in the business. After everyone started accusing The Undertaker, the outcome became predictable. However, finish was done wonderfully and Edge played his part perfectly.
Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin: They had a pay-per-view quality match and although the United States Championship was not on the line, Shelton continues to elevate that title with his work in the ring. Twenty years ago, the secondary singles titles were defined by great workers and Shelton can continue that legacy. MVP's interference made sense and nicely progressed his feud with Hardy.
Broken glass arm wrestling match: As I said in my Smackdown TV report, I usually hate segments like this but this one was done well. No one in their right mind thinks Khali is going to win the WWE Championship, but he was made to look strong here, which was the point. Triple H was both hilarious and focused in his promo. Ranjin Singh annoys me but he held up his end too.
The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson: Kendrick continues to shine and I am glad they are gradually increasing our knowledge of Ezekiel, as they gave him a last name this week. Personally, I would like to know why Ezekiel is Kendrick's sidekick, but up until now, these two have progressed very nicely.
Tazz: Tazz was rejuvenated this week and he did a fantastic job in place of Mick Foley. Foley was tremendous as the Smackdown color analyst, but if he decides not to re-sign with WWE, the fans will be very pleased with Tazz in his old spot.
Vladimir Kozlov vs. Festus: It looks as though this is where they are going and I hope they do. Festus has managed to gain some credibility and Kozlov will finally face an opponent with a legitimate chance to beat him.
Overall show: The show did not get off to the best start, which I will address in a moment, but it really picked up and turned into a very good show. Smackdown continues to make the claim that they are the number one show in WWE.
Smackdown Misses:
WWE Divas Division: When Vickie Guerrero made the announcement that there would be a Divas Championship, the women on the Smackdown roster began having good matches and producing solid segments. Michelle McCool, Natalya, and Victoria were impressive in the ring while Cherry and Maryse looked better every week. However, since Michelle won the title, the division has taken a severe step backwards. Here's hoping they create a title feud for Michelle.
