Buy or Sell: C.M. Punk is an afterthought, JBL, Cena and Batista as tag champions, Mike Adamle, Shawn Michaels, Kane, Beth and Santino

Today’s Rundown: C.M. Punk at Summerslam, JBL as the number one contender, Batista and Cena as tag champions, Mike Adamle, Shawn Michaels, Kane, Santino and Beth, Regal and Noble
C.M. Punk’s importance at Summerslam: I am selling this because he is being treated as an afterthought. Some people think certain people do not “need” a world championship. I think if someone needs a world championship to get over, they do not deserve the title in the first place. Punk is over with the fans. He is a legitimate top guy. His title match at Summerslam is being treated as a mid-card match and that is wrong. I am starting to think they booked Batista vs. Cena because they are afraid to turn Punk loose as a true top guy. If that was the case, why put the title on him at all?
JBL earns Summerslam World Championship match: I am surprisingly buying this, but by default. I would not have minded seeing Punk vs. Kane or Punk vs. JBL, but I did not want to see a triple threat. Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels have unfinished business, so they were not going to put the title on Jericho right now, so I would not want to see him lose to Punk at this point. Punk definitively beating JBL would be a nice notch in his belt.
Batista and Cena win the tag titles: Tough one, but I am buying it temporarily. Dibiase and Rhodes looked very good last night in defeat and if they win the titles back from the two megastars, they will end up looking stronger as a result.
Mike Adamle as Raw General Manager: I am surprised I saved this for number four on the list and I am buying. I liked it when he was announced and I thought he did a good job last night. He has heelish tendencies but he is still the same guy. He received a lot of heat from the crowd last night, but admittedly, that was one of the hottest crowds I have seen in awhile. I think Adamle will continue to excel.
Shawn Michaels to make announcement regarding his career at Summerslam: I am selling this, albeit reluctantly. I want to see Jericho vs. Michaels at Summerslam. Granted, the argument is that they are saving this big match because Summerslam is already loaded. I dislike this logic because Summerslam is one of the big four pay-per-views of the year. They do not hold off on a big WrestleMania match to save it for Backlash.
Flip-flopping Kane: I am buying because he is interesting for the first time in a long time. I could have done without him being teased as a championship contender, but I am very curious to see if he meant it was his unmasked persona that is dead.
Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix: I am buying their act but selling them both winning titles at Summerslam. I would not mind seeing Santino with the Intercontinental title, but I want Mickie to remain the Women’s Champion. Adamle was not real clear on the rules; does the title change only affect the person being pinned and the person who pins him or her? Nonetheless, give Santino the belt and have him gloat around Beth.
William Regal vs. Jamie Noble: I am buying this because they are good workers with contrasting styles. I could see them having very entertaining matches and if nothing else, it gives them both something to do while waiting on something more prestigious.
