Twiling's WWE NXT Hitlist: Aksana is eliminated and Goldust divorces her, A.J., Michael Cole, Kaitlyn, Josh Mathews, and more
Nov 17, 2010 - 12:45 PM

By Rich Twilling

WWE NXT Hits

Aksana gets eliminated: I can't put my finger on it, but she annoys the crap out of me. The "I'm hot, you're not" gimmick has been done before and by women who were actually hot. I'm guessing they will find a place for her on the show, but as a heel, she cannot cut the mustard. I was glad to see her go.

Goldust wants a divorce: Works for me. I hope it also means Aksana gets deported. Hopefully someone at the immigration department was paying attention to all of this. Weddings used to mean something in WWE, but not so much anymore. However, it was the only good thing really about this season.

A.J.: She is the one rookie on the show that the fans can legitimately get behind (get your minds out of the gutter). I even see a heel turn out of her down the road that could work really well. Let's hope they actually do something with her.

Michael Cole: Cole was horrible during the JR match on Monday, but he was back to his old self on Tuesday. Great stuff with the Newlywed game cards. I loved it when he turned the crowd and started having a conversation with the audience members.

WWE NXT Misses

Kaitlyn: I'm breaking down each rookie individually this week and I'm wondering what redeeming qualities Kaitlyn has as they pertain to being a WWE Diva. She is very immature and that comes across on camera even, so I can only imagine what she is like off camera. So, she messes around with Vickie Guerrero a bit, then what? I don't see much of an upside.

Naomi's mic work: Naomi is very athletic in the ring and has an old school look that could work today. However, when she picks up the mic, she doesn't make a whole lot of sense and then she gets the crowds to tune her out. Less talking from Naomi and she should be just fine.

Competitions and matches: I lumped all of these together because we could have done without any of them. I know they have to have filler, but the entire show is filler. Two more weeks of the show and then with the rookies they keep, they can (hopefully) get their asses in the ring so they can learn their (any) craft.

Josh Mathews: Cole is funny with what he does. Mathews is not. Mathews looks like Cole's sidekick and he comes across as a dork. Also, Mathews does not have the chops or the resume to put down other people the way that he does.
