Twilling's Weekend Brief: The Hogans, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Samoa Joe blow up, Randy Savage, James Toney talks smack to Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin, The Nexus, SummerSlam, stupid cliche sayings
Jul 31, 2010 - 02:30 PM

By Rich Twilling

-Linda Hogan is going to marry her boy toy? Will the youngster and Hulk Hogan have beers together while complaining about the kids?

-When I think of wrestlers taking steroids, Dawn Marie's name would have never come to mind.

-Does anyone else see WWE putting a stop to the TNA Hardcore Justice pay-per-view at the eleventh hour?

-Speaking of Hardcore Justice, Lance Storm and Steve Corino are the two wrestlers I'd like to see there the most.

-What will this show be without Joey Styles, a rabid set of ECW fans, a cat fight with Beulah and Francine, and several other nuances the WWE One Night Stand pay-per-view had?

-Can The Miz break into Sheamus's hotel room with a referee and win the WWE Championship.

-Is anyone excited about The Nexus vs. Team WWE at SummerSlam?

-Is anyone terrified at the thought of The Great Khali or even worse, Khali Jr., Eli Cottonwood joining Wade Barrett and The Nexus?

-Was it depressing for the Raw wrestlers on the B-Team for simply being on that team to begin with?

-Was it worse if you were NOT on the team and Jerry Lawler was?

-John Cena and Randy Orton displayed questionable leadership skills this week.

-Cena tore Percy Watson to shreds on his Twitter page.

-Orton threw a visible fit in the ring when The Miz allegedly made it too obvious he was about to take the RKO.

-There is nothing wrong with a veteran rattling the cage of a rookie or even responding to someone like MIz, but there is something wrong with doing it unprofessionally.

-Cena and Orton need to remember who they are, that they are looked up to, and that they were in the positions of Watson and Miz in their career too.

-Samoa Joe blew up too, but his outburst sounded like it came from a passionate opinion on announcing the time in a time limit draw. It also sounded like he had an agreement beforehand, so it was a different situation.

-When the Spirit Squad was a hot act in WWE, did anyone think someone other than Ken Doane would have been the breakout star of the group? Dolph Ziggler (Nicky) became that guy instead.

-Is there anyone in The Nexus besides Wade Barrett that could become the next Dolph Ziggler?

-Does anyone want to see a season three of NXT? Anyone?

-Good to see Randy Savage on WWE.com. We all know he belongs in the Hall of Fame, so him getting there will just be a waiting game.

-How great will James Toney be cutting promos in the UFC? Of course, he has to win a couple of fights to become relevant, but him talking shit about Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin right off the bat makes for great material.

-I'm not into cliches or anything and they say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I disagree. Absence sucks. Thanks for reading!
