TNA Destination X preview and predictions: Can Abyss defeat A.J. Styles and become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion? Will Beer Money win the tag team titles for a fourth time? Will the X Division wrestlers steal the show?
Mar 21, 2010 - 11:15 AM |
The following predictions are being made without any inside knowledge of the match finishes. I am guessing just like you are.
A.J. Styles vs. Abyss for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: The idea that Abyss could win the title for a night or even a week is an intriguing one, but I will go with Styles retaining here. While TNA has made certain stars look strong, Styles has fallen behind a bit and in the ring is where he shines. In a very good match, Styles retains and looks forward to The Pope at Lockdown.
Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson: Angle's pay-per-view opponents have been getting over in the buildup and the matches themselves, but Angle always goes over (Matt Morgan, Desmond Wolfe). I don't see that happening this time around and Anderson will get the win here. The feud will probably continue for at least one and maybe more pay-per-view shows.
Kevin Nash and Eric Young vs. Scott Hall and Syxx Pac: If Hall and Pac have a short shelf life in TNA, Nash and Young will go over. I have a feeling though that they are going to be sticking around for at least a little while longer, so I will pick Hall and Pac to get the win here. I'm curious to see what kind of physical shape Hall is in.
Generation Me vs. The Motor City Machine Guns in an Ultimate X Match: The winners get a shot at the TNA Tag Team Championships. When G-Me signed with TNA, everyone pointed to a possible feud with the Guns and hopefully this match is given the time it deserves. This could be the show stealer of the year for TNA. Based on what I am predicting in the tag team title match, I'll pick G-Me to get the win here in a great match.
Tara vs. Daffney for the TNA Knockouts Championship: Daffney came out of nowhere to become a viable challenger for the belt and I think they are going to go all the way with her here. Daffney wins the title and I wouldn't be surprised to see The Beautiful People and Angelina Love interfere in this match. The numbers game favors Daffney and she will win the gold.
Matt Morgan and Hernandez vs. Beer Money for the TNA Tag Team Championship: If TNA is serious about the tag titles and the division again, they need to put the belts on their best team, and that is Beer Money. It is predictable, but Morgan will officially turn on Hernandez and it will turn into a glorified handicap match. Beer Money will regain the belts.
Rob Terry vs. Magnus for the TNA Global Championship: The crowd seems to be reacting favorably to Terry as a babyface, so if they want to make the worthless title worth something, they should keep the belt on him. I'll predict Terry to retain in a forgettable match due to the fact that this belt means very little right now.
Daniels vs. Kazarian vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Amazing Red in a ladder match to determine the number one contender for the X Division Championship: I'm hoping the X Division shines with their two big matches on the show, instead of having two shorter spotfest matches. Based on how he is being portrayed right now, Kazarian wins this match and will eventually win the X Division Championship.
Doug Williams vs. Shannon Moore for the X Division Championship: Well, I guess the X Division has three big matches but this one does not grab my attention at all. I hope I am surprised and it turns out to be a great match. Moore just got to TNA and I don't see him winning the belt, so Williams will retain and move into a feud with Kazarian.
