Twilling's WWE NXT Hitlist: C.M. Punk influences Darren Young and then has him attacked, David Otunga video package, Great Khali squashes Daniel Bryan, two rookie vs. rookie matches

WWE NXT Hits
C.M. Punk and Darren Young vs. Matt Hardy and Justin Gabriel: In watching this match, I saw that Young is much more natural as a heel than anything else. He might have the fun, babyface look, but his heel mannerisms were very good. Punk fooling Young into an attack will probably toughen him up and eventually, I think this pairing will be very successful. Bonus points to Gabriel for his extending selling during the match. Young could take some pointers on how to sell.
David Otunga video: Based on the two rookie vs. rookie matches (read below) more video packages like these are necessary. The fans don't know these guys and WWE needs to focus on more guys than just Otunga and Bryan. I'm sure this show will improve as it goes on and these are little nuances that will be worked out (hopefully) before the next season of the show.
On screen graphics: I still enjoy the reality feel with the different camera angles and on screen graphics stating the records of the rookies. This show is supposed to be different and treating it unlike a third WWE brand is a good thing. I like too that they kept explaining that the veterans would cast their votes in a couple of weeks and the rookies were trying to impress. We are starting to figure out why exactly everyone is here.
WWE NXT Misses
The Great Khali squashed Daniel Bryan: Bryan has yet to win a match and has wrestled more than anyone else on the show. I get the impression they are making him the ultimate sympathetic babyface and I hope it works. I don't know if he will ever be as over as Rey Mysterio, but in this show's environment, I could see him really getting over.
Wade Barrett vs. Skip Sheffield: The problem with the new format is that there are going to be growing pains. The two rookie vs. rookie matches did not work this week because the crowd sat on their hands. That is not their fault though because they do not know how to react to these guys. Barrett has a nice heel presence but like a lot of guys, needs to get better in the ring. Sheffield is a bit more polished, but his character leaves something to be desired.
Michael Tarver vs. Heath Slater: This seems to be the first big feud amongst the rookies and nobody watching cared. The more I watch Slater, the more I wonder what is missing about him. He has a good look and is decent in the ring. Tarver has a great look and if he cleans up his sloppiness, he could be a star.
Announcers bickering: This is more annoying than anything. Years of being crapped on have rendered Cole incapable of being cool, so when he tries, it looks that much more pathetic. On top of that, Cole began being against the rookies and for the veterans, but now he is just pro-heel, rookie or veteran. It makes the points he tries to make inconsistent. Mathews is okay, but I'm just not into this announce team.
