WWE “ECW on Syfy” Hits

Ezekiel Jackson aligns with William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov: Tommy Dreamer getting hurt and Ezekiel Jackson replacing him was predictable. Jackson attacking Christian and joining forces with Regal and Kozlov was in the back of my mind, but was still a nice swerve. I liked the fact that Jackson should want to go after Christian because Christian has the title. Beyond that, Jackson and Kozlov did not celebrate together directly, so they can still tease tension and feud down the road.

Hurricane Helms vs. Paul Burchill: I’m a big fan of Helms and am very glad to see him back in the ring. I am also a huge fan of Burchill, so I was happy to see this match given over ten minutes. These two worked a nice, contrasting style and turned out a very enjoyable match. This is one advantage of a show like ECW; these two would never get ten minutes on Raw or Smackdown. I hope to see more of these two and I’m sure we will.

The Goldust and Sheamus feud continuing: This has been a great ECW feud with a veteran and newcomer. I am glad to see these two have not seen the last of each other.

WWE “ECW on Syfy” Misses

The Abraham Washington Show: Last week, this was the only thing advertised for the show and it sucked. This week, it wasn’t advertised at all and it still sucked. The premise is a good idea. They could create some good visuals for video packages, but the show itself is horrible. Washington is a trooper though; he gives it his all and he has to be commended for that.

Courtney and Tiffany: Courtney is the new backstage interviewer and frankly, she was not talented enough to warrant her lack of hotness. Maybe she’ll get better and/or hotter. Her conversation with Tiffany was like the two of them were reading scripts off of the respective walls behind them. Tiffany is not believable because she is too young to ever have such a high profile job.

Zack Ryder vs. Yoshi Tatsu: This was a disappointment to say the least. They were only given three minutes and the finish was horrible. Yoshi tried a springboard elbow and Ryder put up his knees. Ryder then pinned Yoshi. That would be a finish for a match where an actual injury took place, but that did not seem to be the case here.
