WWE "ECW on Syfy" Hits

Christian vs. Zack Ryder: I think the first two matches between these two were better than this one, but I still enjoyed this as a television main event. Christian can work with absolutely anybody and Ryder's stock has to be rising given that he has shined in the ECW spotlight. The finish was a little messy, but I love that Ryder gets pissed at the heels even though he is also (currently) a heel. I hate when heels are cool with other heels just because they are both heels. I love Ryder's character and am glad to see him succeeding.

ECW Championship picture: There is a crowd at the top of the Tuesday night card and that is a good thing. Christian has Ryder, William Regal, and to a lesser extent, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson coming after him. Goldust, Tommy Dreamer, Sheamus, and Yoshi Tatsu are sniffing around too. I like that. I'm not sure if the main event star is in the bunch, but somebody could rise to the top.

WWE "ECW on Syfy" Misses

New announce girl: I like that she announced hometowns and weights. I thought Lilian Garcia had plenty of enthusiasm, but lacked the attention to detail that Howard Finkel made an art. That being said, the new girl acted like she was talking. Instead of enthusiastically saying "Christian!", she came through with barely a whimper when making her announcements. Truthfully, I'm surprised that was something that was not addressed when she auditioned. I don't need someone overdoing it, but there has to be some excitement in her voice.

Tiffany: So, William Regal heads to the ring and thinks he is running the show for another week. Everybody comes out to state their case during the opening segment. All of a sudden, Tiffany, the person who runs the show, reveals to everybody but Christian that she was in fact, in attendance. What type of crappy leader is that? On top of that, Regal had to wrestle and he didn't even have time to get his boots laced.

William Regal vs. Yoshi Tatsu: I was always a big fan of Yosihiro Tajiri's work. I realize Yoshi Tatsu works a quicker and more high flying style, but I just cannot believe any of his kicks as being effective moves, and especially finishers. There are times when conflicting styles mesh very well and both wrestlers compliment each other. I just did not feel this was one of those matches.
