TNA Impact Hits

Opening segment setting up the eight-man tag team main event: I am not a fan of seeing Dixie Carter on camera, but I do love seeing Ric Flair and Fortune. Someone in that group should really be going after the World Heavyweight Championship and it is too bad TNA chose now to have the tag titles on the Guns, because having them on Beer Money right now would solidify the group.

Hulk Hogan coming out and endorsing other wrestlers has sort of been his job lately and that is what he should be doing. He cannot wrestle and put people over himself. Also, Fortune needed something outside of EV2.0 because Fortune is a main event level group. Of course, EV2.0 appeared in the segment later, but setting up the main event was well done.

Samoa Joe returns to Impact: Joe came back, pretty much squashed Orlando Jordan, and then was approached by Jeff Jarrett, who wanted Joe to be in his corner for his match with Kevin Nash. Joe took the mic and said he did not need to take sides and the only team he played for was his own. Nicely done. Reestablish Joe by getting back to his core values.

The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Generation Me: I'm sure some people watched this and thought it was the greatest tag team match ever. Well, it wasn't that, but it was very entertaining. The Guns can wrestle in addition to all of their spots. G-Me are spot heavy right now but given the time they have to work, that is how they are going to get over. Very fun match.

Beer Money: I don't agree with them dismantling the FBI, but I do agree that Beer Money looked damn impressive on Impact, which was imperative given that Fortune cannot seem to win many matches. Like I said, the timing of having the titles on the Guns right now is bad because Beer Money with the gold would be great for Fortune.

Angelina Love and Velvet Sky reunion: They are the original and best Beautiful People group. I imagine some stipulation matches over the name and theme music are forthcoming and it will occupy them for awhile. Nonetheless, good to see them back together.

Desmond Wolfe, Magnus, and Chelsea walk around a mall: Normally I hate stuff like this, but it was actually pretty funny and a great way to get over the personalities of Wolfe and Magnus, as opposed to just throwing them in the ring with the Guns.

TNA Impact Misses

Angle, Pope, Anderson, and Hardy vs. Fortune: This was a huge match on paper and it only went about eight minutes, with an odd finish at that. On top of that, Fortune needed the win here. They are the unified faction and the top TNA guys were thrown together for one night. Fortune could have won, looked strong, and the other four could have bickered heading into their matches at No Surrender in the championship tournament.

Abyss brawls with Stevie Richards and then Rhino: Tommy Dreamer wanted a volunteer to take out Abyss. Why not everyone? Why would Stevie Richards fight Abyss by himself and then Rhino come out to do the same? If you are trying to take a guy out, get a gang together and get the job done. Rhino did get the best of Abyss, but you know Abyss will be back to get his revenge.
