Shore's ROH Wrestling Hitlist: The wrestling continues to impress, but the production value does not

ROH Wrestling Hits
"The Prodigy" Mike Bennett: Bennett looked very good in his TV debut. I don't know that I like the "next action movie star" gimmick all that much, but I'll let it play out before making any presumptions. I still don't understand all the hate with Bennett. He made Jimmy Jacobs look great with his bumping skills. I concede the fact that he's not the flashiest guy on offense, but flashy offense does not a good worker make.
Jay Lethal vs. El Generico: A very good TV match that suffered from the gimmick ending (see below). Lethal and Generico are known commodities so this really wasn't much of a surprise. I had a couple of friends stop by who had never seen the ROH product but are wrestling fans. Hey were quite impressed with this match and both men. I question the rationale behind moving the belt off the wildly popular Generico, but like I'm castigated to do every week, I will see how it plays out before making a final judgment.
ROH Wrestling Misses
Production (especially audio): The audio may have been this bad on the first show, but it sure didn't seem like it. You could barely hear Shelton Benjamin or Charlie Haas. Cornette sounded fine, but I think Cornette was aware of how bad it was going to sound and tried to compensate. And I did watch the show on my big screen HD TV this week as opposed to my smaller SD and Jason Powell is right, it looks beyond horrible on that TV. I hope this gets better with the new tapings in Kentucky.
Reusing "time limit draw/add more time" gimmick: I have panned this every chance I have gotten since seeing it play out, and for good reason. There is no excuse in having the exact same gimmick play out in 14 days, especially when it is a Cornette special. If you are going to use time limits, then make them be actual limits, not just moments to try and create drama. Which will ultimately faile when it is used this often.
