Shore's WWE Smackdown Hitlist: Final hype for Hell in a Cell, Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry gets good hype, Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara does not, Zack Ryder impresses, John Laurinaitis does not

WWE Smackdown Hits

Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton hype: This was the only match that had any significant hype, and it was well done. Henry's opening promo was fantastic. Orton's later promo, not so much. I don't understand why you frame Orton into a sick and twisted position here. Sure, there's history for that, but there's also history for him to be abusive to women and I don't think it would be a good idea to frame your top babyface as that either. The RKO on Henry at the end is debatable as to whether it was good or not, but it didn't destroy Henry's heat in the least. Orton looked lucky, even if it was unnecessary. Still, this is again the match I most want to see on the PPV.

Zack Ryder vs. JTG: This was a pleasant surprise on the show. Sure, I'm liking Ryder's character more and more, and always knew he could work, but JTG has been terrible for a long time. This match had JTG looking good. Granted it was a short match, but both guys really entertained me here. I hope to see more of Ryder, and I could stomach a little more JTG with this work rate. But please continue to keep him off the mic.

Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes: No real surprise that this was a good match to watch, but it did suffer some from a lack of drama. There was no reason to believe Sheamus was going over for a title win here (Sheamus is above the Intercontinental Championship right now), and no reason to believe Cody was going over clean (same reason). The finish made sense at least, and managed to put some heat on the Christian vs. Sheamus match at

WWE Smackdown Misses

John Laurinaitis: Why is this guy getting ANY TV time when you have a dozen guys or more who could get the time and actually get over with the crowd? Johnny Ace hasn't ever been over in his life. Ever. So why parade him out now? I don't like it on Raw either, but you come to expect ignorant stuff like this on that show. Smackdown is usually spared this ridiculousness.

Kelly Kelly vs. Natalya: This was God awful. The post-match attack and promo from Beth was well done, but the match itself stunk up the joint. As Jake Barnett pointed out, not only was the roll-up finish slow and obvious enough for anybody to stop, Kelly took her time waving to the fans before she did it. Natalya and Beth look stupid every time this happens, and I cannot for the life of me understand who thought this was a good idea. The first win by Kelly was fine. The subsequent ones are just too much to believe.

Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara hype: This is the least hyped match on the Hell in a Cell card (though there is space to add an even less hyped match). I like the idea, and it may have even worked in the future. But right now there is barely enough reason to care about one Sin Cara, let alone two. They should have let this stew a little longer before going with the story. Of course I'm also willing to speculate that this is a "warning" to Mistico to get his crap together before they go with a different masked wrestler.
