Shore's ROH Best in the World Preview and Predictions: Four way elimination for the ROH Tag Titles, El Generico vs. Christopher Daniels for the TV Title, and Eddie Edwards vs. Davey Richards for the ROH World Championship

Colt Cabana vs. Tommaso Ciampa (w/ The Embassy): This show appears to be the coming out party for the Embassy so I expect big things in all of their matches. Tommaso was hyped at the press conference as "the only undefeated man in ROH," and Colt Cabana would not suffer from a loss here, so picking Tommaso is the easiest pick of the night, It should still be a good match as Tommaso looks very good in the ring, and we all know what Colt can do.
Tommaso Ciampa wins clean.
Homicide vs. Rhino (w/ The Embassy) in a No Holds Barred Street Fight: The key here is that it is a street fight and Homicide has pissed off the entire Embassy. Look for everybody to get involved with this one, and pay special attention to see if Princess Mia hits a kick that gives up the goods under what promises to be a very short skirt. Homicide has a no compete clause for at least three months so I expect him to do an injury job here to fulfill that.
Rhino defeats Homicide and he/the Embassy put Homicide out for a while.
"The Prodigy" Mike Bennett vs. Jay Lethal: This probably the toughest pick of the night. Jay Lethal is returning to ROH, at least in the short term, and usually those guys go over. But ROH has invested a lot of time and energy into Bennett, and Lethal is by no means a lock to stay. Bennett catches a lot of heat for his in ring skills compared to most of the ROH locker (and his Twitter page shows him to be pretty thinned skinned about it too), but he's not bad. He just isn't impressive yet. Lethal might be able to make him look spectacular here.
Bennett wins after Brutal Bob interferes.
Steve Corino w/ Jimmy Jacobs vs. Michael Elgin w/ Truth Martini: As someone who was captivated by the El Generico/Kevin Steen feud from last year (albeit I got there late), this is the match that is personally most intriguing. Will Kevin Steen return? And if he does, will he join his former buddies Corino and Jacobs? Or will he keep his same attitude and join the House of Truth? I predict Steen comes back and helps Corino win. But it won't be the last we see of him today.
Steve Corino wins after Kevin Steen make his return and helps.
Christopher Daniels w/ Truth Martini vs. El Generico for the ROH TV Title: The three title matches on this card promise to be completely out of control, and this should lay the ground work for the others. Daniels and Generico should have a very good match, and I will be watching closely. But I would lie if I said I wouldn't also be watching the entrance to see if Steen pops his head out. If you don't know the history between Generico and Steen, then you missed arguably the best story in all of wrestling last year. The new TV deal puts Daniels's future in limbo, so look for him to drop the title here.
El Generico captures his first ROH singles title after interference from Kevin Steen.
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs. The Kings of Wrestling vs. The Briscoe Brothers vs. The All Night Express in a four way elimination match for the ROH World Tag Team Championships: I get the vapors just thinking about this match. If my coverage of it is sketch, just remember that I am the world's biggest tag team fan and this is like porn. There's so many possibilities here that I just don't know which way it will go.
The KOW got a sniff from the WWE, so they are out. The ANX, my personal choice, I think will be held off until the TV deal as they are made for TV characters. That leaves WGTT vs. Briscoes which I think will be what kicks off the TV shows. Babyfaces are always better when they are chasing, so I pick the Briscoes to win even though it would make for a short initial title run for the WGTT.
The Briscoes become the eight time (I think) ROH tag team champions.
Eddie Edwards vs. Davey Richards for the ROH World Championship: I catch a lot of flak around here because I do not think Davey Richards is the "Best in the World." I do not deny his skills and move set. And as an athlete he may be without compare. But his storytelling ability in the ring is very, very limited, and that has been, and continues to be, my criticism.
That said, I have very high expectations for this match. These two really like each other and I fully expect them to go out there and kill themselves for each other. As I said, there is no questioning Davey's skill set. And Eddie Edwards has grown by leaps and bounds in his championship run. I don't expect them to go Broadway (60 minute draw), but I would not be surprised given Davey's promise to never challenge for the title again if he loses here. A draw allows them to come back to this for Sinclair and Davey still keep his word.
Had Jim Cornette not gone out of his way to say ROH is making Davey's promise binding, I would have picked Eddie here. And I still think Eddie is the best choice. But no way Davey loses this match and never challenges again for the title.
Davey Richards wins the ROH World Heavyweight Championship.
