Shore's WWE Smackdown Hitlist: First lackluster show in several weeks features Cody Rhodes vs. Daniel Bryan, Sin Cara vs. Ted DiBiase, and a flat ending to the number one contender's match

WWE Smackdown Hits

Cody Rhodes vs. Daniel Bryan: This was easily the match of the night with the time it was given and the two guys involved. The ending hurt the match big time, but it didn't destroy it either. I do think it was a botch insofar as Bryan's foot getting caught, but I don't think he's hurt. We have correspondents going to the shows this weekend so we'll know if he is left off and shows. Let's hope not as this could be a very good feud if Bryan can find his sea legs and cut a promo that Cody can work with.

Sin Cara vs. Ted DiBiase: This was the best work we've seen from these two since their feud began several weeks ago. I don't know if Ted speaks Spanish or if they worked out hand signs or something, but their doesn't seem to be the odd moment that has been a staple of Sin Cara matches where they just looked at each other. Sin Cara needs a mouthpiece and soon though. He's getting a little stale not saying anything.

Heath Later and Justin Gabriel vs. The Usos: This was a very good tag match and both teams looked very good coming out of it, which is pretty rare for WWE matches. I'm still not sold on Slater and Gabriel as a team because I'm not sold on Slater. But I am sold on the Usos getting a chance to establish themselves as a team through the dance they did before the match.

Christian vs. Kane: As I said in the "All Access" audio review, Kane proved once again that if you use him in short spurts, and put him in the ring with people who can work, Kane will flat deliver a great match. I didn't like the finish here because it puts Mark Henry in the middle of two stories, but the match itself was very good.

WWE Smackdown Hits

Randy Orton as John Cena: The moment I feared officially happened last night on Smackdown when Orton did his backstage interview and calmly explained that Christian will never beat him. And seeing as how that is probably true, we have the re-birth of John Cena on Friday nights. A non-serious bad ass who cuts bad promos and beats everyone two nights a week is more than I can handle.

Christian vs. Randy Orton feud: I have been very high on this feud for some time, but the wheels are coming off fast. The ending of the match at Capitol Punishment was beyond weak, and the silly number one contender's tag match just made it worse. Even more so when you consider that Henry got the pin on Orton. This can be saved to be sure. But I don't like the direction it is going right now.

Jinder Mahal: This isn't a terrible miss, but it is still a miss. We've had it fairly well established at this point that Jinder is a bad ass, and with Khali in his corner he will be difficult to stop. So it's time to move past setting that idea up and put Jinder against someone with some credibility so we can buy in completely.

Ezekiel Jackson vs. Wade Barrett: I just want it to be done. So much bad here. Nothing redeemable about this feud anymore. Move on. For the children.
