In the spirit of my beloved WCW Saturday Night, welcome to the Shore Weekend Promo. Every week I will mention, the good, the bad, the ugly, and whatever else I want to talk about across all of wrestling.

Opening Series (My overall thoughts on the week): As I sat down to make the list for Dot Net Weekly on Thursday, it occurred to me that this had not been a very newsworthy week with the exception of SummerSlam which had already been thoroughly covered. As I sat down to write this, it occurred to me that statement was still true, except for Matt Hardy. My first thought was to do an entire promo on just him. Certainly there were enough tweets to go around.

But then something strange happened. I started to feel bad for Matt Hardy. Not because he was fired or because people were making fun of him. He earned every bit of that. I felt sad because even though he's a screw-up, he's also a guy from the backwoods of North Carolina who just wasn't equipped for fame and money and all that goes with it.

And that got me thinking about the book series I am about to release and how it could be me with fame and money and all that goes with it next. And I wonder if I'm equipped. There but for the grace of God, go I. I hope Matt is able to beat his demons and move on with his life.

Pops (The best of the week):

-Daniel Brian vs. Alberto Del Rio was the best match of the week, and a very pleasant surprise. After the three minute thing we got going into SummerSlam, I was happy to see WWE go back to this and give us the match we deserved. That will be on PPV and for a championship one day. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later because I think these two have a couple more notches they could turn it up.

-Bravo to Crimson in his first major promo this week on Impact. He wasn't the greatest thing to ever hold a microphone, but I was very impressed with his poise and delivery. He will get better there, and in the ring. TNA has a ton of good talent around with Crimson, Gunner, etc. If the company can survive and drop some dead weight, they might have the best "next generation" of stars already under contract.

Heat (The worst of the week):

-Except I don't expect them to survive. No, I am not predicting the immediate collapse of TNA. But much like dispensational Christians see the time as "ripe" for the Second Coming, so I too see the time as "ripe" for a TNA failure. May not be this year, or even the next. But after really watching Impact Wrestling hard for the first time in weeks, I am convinced more than ever that the proverbial wheels are coming off at high speeds. TNA is terrible right now.

Tweet This (Best Tweets from "The Boys"):

-C.M. Punk: I saw a midget jogging by the lake today. That would have been good for the YouTube. I'm going to Canada Friday. Crap. What are the odds that the midget I saw jogging today has a twitter? (He also changed his profile from "WWE Champion" to "Currently mad at OZ.")

-Steve Corino: When I'm King of the world, I will outlaw all white underwear. Call me racist but it just gives us guys false hope.

-Kirby Mack: I was thinking about rebranding myself and making my career off of botches but then I realized that would be gimmick infringement. #Sabu

JBL: What do u call a group of criminals at univ of Miami? A huddle!!

Obligatory Iron Sheik tweet: who happy to watch the f***ing football this year? i be ready to f*** everybody up

Go Home (The Big Finish, Whatever I Want):

Pro Wrestling Evo continues to put on impressive shows. The next one is Friday night, September 2. I think they're just trying to piggy back off the release of my book, but whatever. Here's the latest edition of Evo Underground. Next week will feature a video where apparently, I'm dragged into the fight. Stay tuned for that, as well as information on The Following Contest is a Dark Match available exclusively online on 9/2.
