The following predictions are made with no prior knowledge of the planned finish. They are what I think, and in some cases hope, will happen based on WWE TV.
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar: I am so gutted about this pick it isn't even funny. On the one hand, I think Triple H is willing to do business here tonight. I know he hasn't always been the guy willing to put ego aside, but he does so much for the company backstage now that I tend to think his ego is satisfied and he doesn't feel the need to put himself over. I think Brock going over makes the most sense to get the most bang for your buck.
On the other hand, Brock Lesnar has been Brock Lesnar once again. He showed up at the UFC fight in a surprise move, and rumors have been flying about him being disgruntled, and WWE being disgruntled with him. How much is true is unknown, and how irritated McMahon is about any of it is also unknown. But this much we do know, we have seen people treated worse than losing to Triple H for infractions far smaller.
Prediction: Triple H defeats Brock Lesnar.
John Cena vs. Big Show vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship: This match I am far less conflicted about. I don't think there is any question that CM Punk is headed to a showdown with the Rock at Royal Rumble, and I am beginning to think perhaps even longer than that. I even expect John Cena to take the pinfall here as a way to break him away from the title for now, but I of course expect Big Show to be the one who knocks Cena out, allowing Punk to win somehow.
Prediction: CM Punk retains the WWE Championship.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship: Just writing the match out made me tired. Del Rio and Sheamus will probably have a very good match. In fact, I expect it to be heart stopping to some degree to leave the door open for a Ziggler appearance (more on that in a minute). But I do not think I could care less about seeing a match on this card. This feud was over a month ago. At least it will finally end tonight.
Prediction: Sheamus retains the World Heavyweight Championship.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho: I am near breathless for this match, and I hope I am not setting myself up for disappointment. I can clearly see a path by which we get a rematch of this at WrestleMania, and I can see why they might hold back because of that. However far they are allowed to go, this should be the premier in-ring performance of the night. Watch this one closely folks, with Chris Jericho at the helm, you might just see a star born tonight.
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler defeats Chris Jericho.
Bonus Pick: Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship: It is Ziggler's night to be crowned. He won't hold the title for long, maybe they will stretch it six months, but it is his night to see what he can do.
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins the World Heavyweight Championship.
Kane vs. Daniel Bryan: As much as I have liked Daniel Bryan's work, I am groing weary of this storyline with Kane. This should be a very good match. People are always sleeping on Kane, and Daniel Bryan is the kind of ring general that can kill with a guy of Kane's skill set. AJ gets involved and costs Bryan the match I'm sure, but I sincerely hope I am wrong on this one and Bryan wins to move on to something serious.
Prediction: Kane defeats Daniel Bryan
Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship: The rest of these predictions are going to be short because WWE has done little to nothing to build most of these feuds. Even the ones they have given attention too are flimsy. This is a prime example. Miz just won the title, and Rye doesn't need the title to feel relevant. Nor do I think Rey would do the title any good. Miz retains here in what should be a good match to watch.
Prediction: The Miz retains the Intercontinental Championship.
The Prime Time Players vs. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth for the WWE Tag Team Championships: I have no idea what they are going to do here. AW's idiocy affects this match in unknown ways. If Vince blames the Players in any way with AW's departure, then they get killed here. If he seems them as screwed over by this guy, then they destroy Kofi and Truth and go on a rampage. Perhaps it doesn't affect it at all. If that's the case, then I think they do the title change here and get Truth and Kingston apart.
Prediction: The Prime Time Players win the WWE Tag Team Championships.
Antonio Cesaro vs. Santino Marella for the United States Championship: All signs have been pointing to Cesaro winning this title and then feuding with Christian over it. Christian won't win the title, but he is a big enough star to aid Cesaro in getting over. The idea of Cesaro changing the title to the European Title holds a real probability too.
Prediction: Antonio Cesaro wins the United States Championship.
