WWE Smackdown Hits

Kane vs. CM Punk: This was a fantastic match that showcased how good Kane is when he's paired with a good worker like Punk. Punk has been lazy in some of his TV matches of late, but he didn't show that here and this was the best match on the show, hands down. It hurt the Kane vs. Zack Ryder match because Ryder couldn't do better than two minutes with Bryan and Kane went 11 minutes, but it's still a match you should go out of your way to see.

Sheamus vs. Randy Orton: This was a very good, and long, match that was overshadowed by Punk vs. Kane. I liked how they kept them even for the majority of the match and ended with a surprise rollup. I question the wisdom of giving this away on free TV if this is the ultimate feud that comes out of Over the Limit, but you should use this possible lack of wisdom and see this match.

Damian Sandow: Sandow finally showed a brief moment in the ring. It wasn't a full match. It's not even enough to gauge him on, but I like the finisher. That said, this is another way to build a guy without making him do squash matches. Not that there's anything wrong with squash matches, but it's nice to see something different in a build. Sandow continues to impress each week. His first feud is going to be very important in solidifying the character. Hopefully they pick the right guy.

Over the Limit hype: They did the best they could to make the PPV feel special. Punk and Bryan actually built a personal feud angle into their story, and Sheamus and Randy Orton went a long way in their promo segment to put heat on the Fatal Fourway. Punk and John Laurinaitis opened the show with mic work that helped Ace's match with John Cena as well. I don't think it was enough to sell a ton more PPVs, but it certainly didn't hurt sales either.

WWE Smackdown Misses

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Darren Young and Titus O'Neal: The match itself wasn't bad, but I'm still not sure why you job O'Neal and Young out here. They've spent weeks building them up, only to feed them to a tag team that has little heat. I realize they are the champs, but who really cares? This didn't kill Young and O'Neal, but it hurt them for no reason.

Santino Marella vs. Cody Rhodes: What is there to say here? Santino gets great crowd reactions, no question. But can;t he beat the Yoshi Tatsu's of the roster? Why do you have to give him wins over champions? And especially 2 minute wins? It makes no sense.
