Due to a technical issue, there will be no All Access Smackdown this week. We apologize and will return next week with the podcast.

WWE Smackdown Hits

The Shield and Wyatt promos: Both The Shield and The Wyatt Family delivered good promos on the others this week. It did feel a little bit like they were spinning their wheels and just talking to one another when you want to see the feud heat up some physically, but I have to give a Hit to both promos. They showcased each group and gave them good reason to dislike each other. Now they just need to prove it.

Daniel Bryan vs. Antonio Cesaro: I didn't love this match because I felt like they held back too much, but it would still have to be qualified as a Hit. Cesaro and Bryan have had better matches, but this one was hard hitting with a very fun finish. Bryan didn’t run his same lame offense; he managed to mix it up a little. I definitely recommend you watch this match if you are looking for good wrestling this weekend, just don’t set your expectation level too high.

Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns I give this match a mild Hit because it was well wrestled and I liked the story they told with Ambrose and Reigns. Rollins was better than expected on commentary, and Ziggler and Kofi made the other two look like a million bucks. Yes, I would prefer Kofi and Dolph be in meaningful matches, but this will be a forgettable loss for them as The Shield should be better than the impromptu team of Ziggler and Kingston.

WWE Smackdown Misses

Randy Orton vs. Christian: It's amazing how much a finish can change your perception of an entire match. Christian and Orton had another entertaining match going and then gave it all away by going back to that awful pop-out sunset flip attempt into the RKO. We have to have seen that spot at least 20 times on TV at this point, and seeing it again here was the absolute wrong call.

Daniel Bryan and Kane: This was a boring segment on the whole. Bryan had a couple of cute lines, but not cute enough to cover the poor story and Kane's lackluster performance. Kane's character is so confusing. Stephanie McMahon heels on him and makes him apologize for doing heel things, but then he just heels it up more. I want to like what he is doing, but I just don't understand it.

Bray Wyatt vs. Goldust: Why in the blue hell is Goldust jobbing out to Bray Wyatt in a match that has nothing to do with anything? Goldust and Cody Rhodes consistently had the best tag matches in the company and were given the tag title. Now the titles are on a couple of has-beens while Goldust takes a three minute loss. I don’t think you can find a bigger miss than this.
