TNA Impact Wrestling Hits

EC3 and Sting: This was actually pretty good. I know a lot of people are down on EC3, and he hasn't been booked in a way that normally warrants a Hit, but he played his part well here and Sting was a good foil. The former Derrick Bateman has good instincts when he isn't trying to be a goof, and I hope he uses more of that going forward. A win over Sting in the next few months will also give him a good rub. Now if he can only overcome being attached at the hip to Dixie.

Madison Rayne return: Madison looks great after having a baby just a few months ago, and she got a great faction from the crowd, making this a Hit. I'm not thrilled about her going into a tag match with ODB as I think she should go right after Kim, and I would have booked her as one of the "non-TNA" talents that Kim has challenged, but you can't deny she had a big moment when she returned.

TNA Impact Wrestling Misses

TNA Championship tournament hype: As bad as some of the things were on this show, this is by far the worst. Neither man put Styles over even though they are babyfaces. The Dixie Land match might be the worst thing I have heard of since the Punjabi Prison. Jeff Hardy showing up at Dixie's table doesn't even make sense (though I admit they can fix that next week). And all of that overshadowed the fact that one of these men will be the new champion! This tournament should have been huge, but it has turned into a joke that isn't even funny.

Feast or Fired: Speaking of terrible ideas, how does this gimmick survive every year? The concept is stupid. And after the way the titles have been devalued, why would anyone risk getting fired for one of them? All the guys worked hard and tried to please the crowd, and they did to some degree, but in-match work can't keep this from being a miss.

Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries: In-ring work can't keep this from being a mis either, especially when you consider they only went six minutes. Sabin hasn't been champion long after winning it in a flat way, and now Aries win the title in a flat way. Then they go backstage and shit all over the idea of being champion. What about this isn't a miss?

Rockstar Spud: Spud is killing any chance he has of being a legitimate character in TNA. That's not necessarily his fault as this is what he has been given, but he is one bad, over-the-top segment away from becoming the TNA version of Santino Marella.
