Pruett’s WWE Elimination Chamber Preview and Predictions: Will Daniel Bryan and C.M. Punk escape the Chamber Championships intact? Will we find out how one wins an Ambulance Match? Will Kofi Kingston wear a Spiderman costume?

The following predictions are made from a place of complete ignorance to the finishes. They are merely predictions of what I would find entertaining, interesting or what I believe Vince McMahon will change the show to a few hours prior to the event..
C.M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship in the Raw Elimination Chamber: In both Elimination Chamber matches this year, there is a definite star power deficit. That said, the athleticism is off the charts in this match.
When your weak working links are Miz and R-Truth (as opposed to Khali) you are in great shape. This will be the final match of the night and the most exciting.
I expect this match to be the story of how C.M. Punk overcame four men, but Chris Jericho snuck in at the end and was just too much. It actually harkens back to Unforgiven 2008 when Jericho won the World Heavyweight Championship when Punk was unable to defend it (but I doubt that will be referenced).
The Miz will probably be eliminated quickly because of his current doghouse standing. Kofi Kingston will be playing the role of Rob Van Dam and John Morrison by using the Chamber like he’s Spiderman. Truth will have a fine performance as long as he does not encounter any actual spiders.
Prediction: Chris Jericho wins the WWE Championship, last eliminating C.M. Punk and possibly ending the world (or at least the northern portion of the United States).
Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show vs. Great Khali vs. Santino vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Wade Barrett for the World Heavyweight Championship in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber: Last year the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match surpassed the original Chamber match (at Survivor Series 2002) to become the best one of all time. The finishing sequence with Edge and Rey Mysterio was match of the year quality on its own.
This year, I fear that we will see the worst Chamber match of all time (surpassing the Extreme Elimination Chamber from December to Dismember). The lethal combination Santino and Khali (the replacements!) really hurts this match from a work-rate perspective. The fact that no one can see anyone in this match actually winning, aside from the defending champion, hurts this match from a suspense perspective.
I’m going to go with the curve ball that says either Alberto Del Rio or Christian (or both if we’re lucky) will ambush Santino on the way to the ring (in the style of Edge and Kofi Kingston in 2009) and take his spot in a pod. This will add someone who can work and also add someone who fans could buy as a winner. Regardless of that person, my pick remains the same.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan gets lucky again by last eliminating Del Rio or Christian after he suffers a Big Show punch to the face, given in Vengeance.
John Cena vs. Kane in an Ambulance Match: There has been a remarkable amount of damage done to the John Cena character with this story. He went from stale to despicable on Monday night by returning Eve’s attempt at a two-tongue tango. Between his on air persona being surrounded by cartoon characters and his on line persona obsessing over his own potential vagina, I just don’t care.
That said, John Cena has to win this match in a major way. I doubt we’ll see Kane for a few months coming out of this. Cena has to put Kane behind him and focus on The Rock (and hopefully not on genitals of any sort). This will be wild, over-played brawl that may include Zack Ryder actually getting killed by one of these men (don’t worry, he’ll still find a way to make it to Raw for all his zombie broskis).
Prediction: I don’t know how one wins an Ambulance Match, but John Cena does that..
Beth Phoenix vs. Tamina Snuka for the WWE Diva’s Championship: This one may actually feature the return of Kharma either during the match or right after it. That instantly makes it more interesting than most Diva’s matches.
Beth seems to be on a terror of late and that terror has to continue here. Beth vs. Kharma is a money match that could actually draw a few more eyes to WrestleMania.
Prediction: Beth Phoenix is mildly challenged prior to retaining the WWE Diva’s Championship.
This does not look like the best February pay-per-view we have ever seen. In fact, it looks like the worst since 2007’s No Way Out. I am a sucked for very few gimmick matches, but this is one of the ones I absolutely love. From the first one to last year’s brilliant one, I have enjoyed every Chamber match. This makes this show a must order in my mind.
Excitement will happen. The Chamber matches will be entertaining (one vastly more than the other) and the Road to WrestleMania will continue.
