Dot Net readers discuss the debut of "Hulk Hogan's CCW" - "I've always liked Hogan and wanted to see him succeed at this, but after one week I can honestly say I will probably not be watching this again"

Wasn’t the gist of this show supposed to be celebrities training as wrestlers and trying to win the CCW belt? If that’s the case, shouldn’t they disqualify Dennis Rodman as he was a wrestler technically under WCW and even was involved in several matches with Hulk Hogan?
I know wrestling is predetermined and politics take a hand (I was training for awhile under UWA – Syracuse) but if he goes on to win it all, it will prove the hunch I have and that is Hogan was so unsure of this product that he placed a ringer in there to make it look good.

Powell's POV: Keep in mind that Dustin Diamond has wrestled at the indy level. And, for what it's worth, Butterbean knocked out Bart Gunn at WrestleMania 15. I don't think it's a big deal that some of the contestants had some training, but it would be nice if they would have acknowledged it.

Like Mr. Powell and other readers, I had high hopes for CCW. I had hoped it would provide a little insight into wrestling training and the behind-the-scenes of the business.
The first problem was that some of the participants hardly deserve the title "celebrity." I had read the names of these "celebrities" before but it wasn't until I saw them introduced before a crowd that I realized how pitiful a cast this really was. I always thought "Dancing with the Stars" was for washed-up celebrities who can't get a gig anywhere else, but CCW is taking reality "star" castoffs who I've never even heard of.
The show itself was way, way, way, way too overproduced and edited. I thought I'd see some matches similar to Raw or Smackdown. Instead, the production and editing made it more of a motion-picture. The crowd noise was so over-the-top and unbelievable. The crowd would be quiet one second and loud as hell the next. Are we supposed to believe that the crowd will go crazy with boos just because a heel rams a babyface's head into a turnbuckle? On Raw, that would be pretty dull. On CCW, apparently it really fires the crowd up. The chanting and cheering was obviously pre-fabricated and not effective at all.
Like I said before, I really hoped that this show would be good, for both my entertainment purposes and for Mr. Hogan. I've always liked Hogan and wanted to see him succeed at this, but after one week I can honestly say I will probably not be watching this again. (Instead, I'll be watching CMT's show on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader hopefuls....much more easy on the eyes).
