Readers comment (with Powell's reaction) on Monday's WWE Raw and the WWE Raw Hitlist: "Is Vince building up to a boy band angle?"

If you have comments on Monday's WWE Raw or anything else pro wrestling related, send them to dotnetjason@gmail.com.
I wasn't sure about seeing a steel cage championship match (which normally would be a main event at a PPV) at the beginning of Raw, but the match was pretty good. It had some good spots, and the bookers made a great move by having a clean finish. C.M. Punk actually looked stronger in the end because a beat-up Chris Jericho sort of accidentally won.
The in-ring segment with Randy Orton, JBL, Glamarella, and Batista was very good. Usually getting that many people involved waters down a segment, but they all played their parts extremely well. JBL sometimes gets stale but he looked great firing back at Orton.
Orton has been my MVP the last three weeks. He is totally believable as the cocky former champ calling out everyone before his return. Batista's promos aren't usually very solid but he did well tonight. Whomever is writing Santino's jokes is so good, WWE should be worried that he or she will leave for a different show, like Saturday Night Live. In my opinion, it's that funny. The Jamie Noble vs. William Regal feud continues, good to see some more thought put into the undercard. I like that they're involving Evan Bourne with major players already, I just hope they don't screw up his development.
When Adamle announced that Shawn Michaels would face Jericho, I thought they should've put off that rematch for a few months. After they announced it would be a ladder match, I could easily see this feud of the year delivering a match of the year candidate. I thought Raw pulled a good show out of nowhere. They haven't really put on any noteworthy shows lately, but this Raw was pretty entertaining from start to finish. Everything had a purpose, and further episodes and PPV's were set up.

Powell replies: The Santino writer is generally Brian Gewirtz and I'm sure he'd love to make the jump to SNL. You probably just made his day if he's reading.

Great call with your Raw misses. While an outright incest angle with Paul Burchill and Katie Lea would have never worked, they still could have played up with weird sexual tension for some solid heel heat. There are some great sibling duos (see Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Ultimate Marvel comics for a great example) with a bit too close creep factor going on that never actually gets pointed out. Vince McMahon has never really had a taste for subtlety, of course, so it would never happen. Regardless, it's a shame Burchill is being buried left and right. His push was better when he was a pirate, and that's depressing.
The Jerry Lawler and Charlie Haas team with Kofi Kingston was just silly. While it does make sense that Kofi and the legacy stable would be gunning for each other after C.M. Punk was jumped, is there no one else that's over with the fans that's already in a feud with these guys that isn't a color commentator or Charlie Haas? I don't know, Cryme Tyme? Nah.
A miss you've missed that I'd like to point out is the recent brash of ridiculous names in the WWE. Manu? Just call the man Afa Jr! They didn't rename Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Braden Walker? Ricky Ortiz? Gavin Spears? Dolph Diggler? Is Vince building up to a boy band angle?

Powell replies: I'm with you on some of the names lately. Maybe they are the first names that Stephanie McMahon and Triple H had in mind for a baby boy. OK, probably not.
