Reader reaction to WWE Raw's controversial ending: "Vince has truly lost it this time"

I really feel this ending to Raw was the absolute wrong way to go. On a show that features a WWE Title match it is a huge disservice to fans who subscribe to cable, buy WWE merchandise, order pay-per-views, etc. A classier way would be a straight up run-in on the match or a stipulation or some other way to get William Regal over.
To shortchange fans makes them not want to tune in, especially those (myself not included) who already tuned in to see John Cena, the most hyped guy on the program not being on the show (not everybody knows his hectic filming schedule). It's bad enough they screw the fans over, but even worse still during the WWE title match. Vince (McMahon) has truly lost it this time.

I really liked the ending this week. What Raw needed was something that you can go up to your friend the next morning and say, "Did you see that?!" This ending accomplished that. It was intriguing on so many levels: What happened at the end of the match? Who is the champion? What will happen with William Regal? What will Regal make Mr. Kennedy do next week? Tonight's Raw put main event heat on Regal, Kennedy, Triple H, and Randy Orton. This was a unique ending that, at least for me, makes next week's Raw a "must-see."

After a few decades of watching wrestling, I'm baffled...100 percent baffled. Tonight's end of Raw could have been the most disrespectful act by the WWE to its fans since, well, I don't know when. To ask people to commit themselves to watching a main event for roughly 20 minutes and not end it is such a bizarre decision that I'm actually not sure how to put it into words. I honestly don't get it...what were they trying to achieve?
I think I'm more shocked at the reaction. Anyone that liked that ending must not value their time much. That ending was creative? That was ground breaking? Give me a break! If that's what we're leaning on as creative in the WWE these days, perhaps it's time for me to move on because I just don't get it. Intrigue? What intrigue? What else could they do with this? Threaten to end more matches early? Show the conclusion of the match next week? Oh wait...they ended it live in the arena as well, so people that actually paid to see a conclusion got nothing.
Let's not forget that what we are watching is a scripted sports entertainment show and that most of us that read here and others sites understand more about what goes into these shows than your average fan. Having said that, c'mon: did it get William Regal over as an 'uber heel'? No, it didn't. It made WWE creative and Vince McMahon look stupid by pulling a bait-and-switch on its viewers. It breaks the trust that they have spent years building up and made suckers out of us all. For those of you that think that what you saw was creative need to assess what you know and understand about pro wrestling. Demand better and you'll get it.
